Is there going to be a player of the year thread for TC?

It was something I enjoyed back at TBV but I don't visit there really any more and would like to see it started up over here (but don't have the time to volunteer for it).

If anyone's interested I'll start here with my 54321 and maybe see what develops??

5. Kouta
4. Frenchy
3. Houla
2. Prenda
1. Eddie - just for providing a bit of spark and excitement on an otherwise depressing day.

Kouta, although he did make some costly turnovers.
Teague
Carazzo
Waite (unfortunately ran out of gas)
Betts

Only one midfielder :(

We haven't really discussed this ponkstar. To the best of my knowledge if we did run a tally like this we'd need to do it all manually, at least in the early stages.

5. Kouta - vintage performance. If the injury gods smile upon him and this form is sustained for 22 rounds he might be looking at taking Charlie home this year.
4. Carrazzo - he may have shown yesterday that he has arrived - although disposal still needs fine tuning.
3. Eddie Betts - I think I'm in love!
2. Barnaby - Battled on bravely, but fatigue probably got to him in the end.
1. Jarrad Waite - same as for Barnaby.

Apologies to Justin Davies, who also looked lively.

1. Andrew Carrazzo

Kouta had a shocker. Half of his possesions went to the opposition and the other half either made it as difficult as possible for his team mates or were just one meter handpasses to a running player. It was good to see him get his hand on the ball and given time his skills will improve but he was far from our best player.

5 Kouta
4 Teague
3 Morell
2 Carazzo
1 Betts

Mentions to: French, Stevens, Lappin, Waite, Lance, Livo, McGrath (until the injury)

I think we should have a specialised Player of the Year in that we should nominate 2 "minus" scores for players who play against team rules, get reported, play undisciplined footy, etc. Those Minus scores get taken off their tally, and may influence the final outcome of the POY award.

My nominations this week for minuses are:
-2: Campo. Played the most undisciplined we've seen for a long time. I thought he'd put that behaviour behind him.
-1: Fev. I know he was frustrated, but the body language was poor, and he didn't do as much this week to gee up his teammates, like we have seen lately.

5. Kouta - great at extracting the pill, unfortunately 50% ineffective with it
4. Barney - motored all day, good grabs
3. Lappin - ditto
2. Prender - good first half in tag-team with Kouta
1. Teague - defended well, good attacking moves

Also, great debut by Eddy.

Kouta! -
Made a few mistakes but in all honesty the whole game was a mistake! 12 clearances, 5 inside 50's prove that all the wankers out there who said he's done are wrong!

Morrell -
Held down his job well!

Carazzo -
Thank you Jesus!

Teuge -
Same as morrell

Betts -
Well done Eddie! 2 goals on debut and handed off another. Hell if he does that every game i'd be exstatic!!!!!!!
