OK, so it was a slow night at home and we watched "ABBA" the movie, and there's Agneta, wearing a Carton jumper.

I knew I had the hots for her for a reason!

Here's a Carlton fan........ Brandon Roy, Portland Trail Blazers.

When I was living in the Portland area and shared a meal with a few people in our profession, one of them was Roy.

Out of no where he says to me "So, since you're Australian what do you think of the Carlton Football Club? Or are you a rugby fan?"

Me: "They're my favorite team!! Why?"
Roy: "Me too! I hope they do better. I get some games sent to me but they haven't been doing too well."

Led into a conversation for about 5-10 minutes on the club. The others there had no idea WTF we were talking about. Was pretty darn cool that he knew a bit about AFL. He ended up having one of his friends put a Blues win over Collingwood onto the computer and he sent it to me over e-mail.

Really great guy.

Came about because they had the same sponsor? Avco Finance sponsored Borg and McEnroe? I'd doubt the validity of that. Fila was the connection between McEnroe and Borg...not Carlton however.

IMO a photo opportunity was missed however as we could have had a great shot of Bruce Doull, Johnny Mac and Björn Borg in their trademark headbands.

Not a very good one by the looks.

(Mind Kreuzer's not much of an F1 fan either if he reckons last weekend was Ricciardo's first GP, haha.)

EDIT: Although, I hadn't read this until now. You're right, so we'll have to work on him a bit...

But before he fires up the STR7 for the first time in anger on Friday, there was a bit more Aussie Rules to get through as White and Kreuzer presented Ricciardo with a Carlton guernsey, which the Toro Rosso man already has plans for.

“I’ll be hanging it up on the wall. Maybe at home in England, that would be a nice little touch,” he said. “The only problem is I’m a West Coast Eagles fan. I grew up supporting them but I think I might have a soft spot for Carlton after today.”

Not a regular poster here but I heard on the radio today that Joel Eggerton is a Carlton member. He got very excitied to get his personal call from Juddy.
