Hi guys,

Just got home from the Guernsey presentation dinner. Mrs. Mikkey and I only bought tickets to have a good night .. but….. when we arrived we checked and saw table 30 .. .looks good…. right next to the stage.

We move towards the table and check the place cards. Mikkey is placed next to Graham Smorgon and Callum and Troy. Mrs. Mikkey next to Scotty and Kouta….

Next table has Colllo, Mike Fitz, Michael Malouf, Dennis Pagan etc. on it. Everybody comes up to chat and shakes my hand, from Nick to Fev to old Club legends. Pagan sits down and has a chat about mikkeys coaching ideas.. etc. What a night. I have no idea how I ended there, but @#$%&! I had fun.. Some observations:

Graham Smorgon – nice burt very dry and boring
Kenny Hunter – nice bloke – remembered our chat half a year ago at Rhys’ pub.
Callum and Troy: great guys exited to play for Carlton – Callum’s dad was a Carlton supporter, Troy is really nice, expecting his first child in July. Scotty fun and enjoying the view of my wife’s boobs, Kouta quiet but nice., Had a long chat with Michael Malouf how to make the “Victory Roomâ€

I forgot: Troy told me he expects to play a half of footy for the Ants this wekend. Kouta told me he is not going to play before round 1. Troy happy with his progress amd really excited. You wont meet nicer guys in footy then Troy and Callum...

PS: Apologies for the spelling etc. but i am still drunk and very exicted. I have no idea who placed us right in the middle of the "inner sanctuary" but thanks anyway.. ...

You lucky, lucky Bastard :D

The HUN also tells how Peter Motley was an inspirational speaker, who presented Jordan Russel with his jumper (can't find the link). Must have been a great night.

I am already looking forward to this years Big Nick medal !!

P.S> Where are the photos ?

Great news to hear about Mots still being involved with the club.

A tragedy of Shakespearian proportions. :(

Well i'll be jiggered. I would have thought it was at least twice that - if not more! Like many of you have said - he's a part of the furniture in my mind, i never knew his career was cut that short!

Sounds like an amazing night - will have to look out for next years event.

Nursing my hangover ... my head hurts. And guess who forgot to take his camera due to us being in a might hurry making it on time....

Got the "official" photographer to take a couple of pics of us with the players and will try to buy them from the club.

And yes Motts was absolutely a highlight. Stirring stuff.. I must say the club does these events very well. We had a great time at both the B&F and last night. I can highly recommend people to spend the money attending these......

Motts made a fantastic statement to Russell & Hartlett ... he said to them "Not only have you fallen into the top tree, but the best nest"!!

i read this in the age today, but can't find the link for you guys to have a read!

the article also said he was looking fit and healthy, which is good to know after what he's been through.

it took only 19 games for my cousins and i to declare that he was the best of the big 3 SA that came over in 1986!

such a tragedy is motts.

alot of people reckon we going for him and kernahan but neither would come over unless we got bradley as well.

and alot of people reckon motts was the best of the lot, and consider who the lot are, that is saying something.

but - in such a tragedy a positive comes from it - im bloody rapted with the way motts is treated by the fans, officals and players - its a great attitude and another sign that our club is special.
