Nah, I have never had to pay in the past.
$5 for members
$10 for non-members.

I suppose, we kinda need all the money we can get.

Now if we happen to win the wizard cup, would that be on display in some way at the family day?

If that happened, then paying 5 bucks to get through the gate would represent greater value than ever before, there would also be a bigger crowd that if we lose.

Nevertheless Id say we will get a decent crowd just for making the wizzer GF.

I'm looking to get my 15 mth old boys jumper signed by the players. I understand that some clubs/players are reluctant to do this now due to people trying to make money off them (auctions etc). Would the family day be the best option or is there a more appropriate channel?

I don't think so. A quick trip to the websites of 5 of the other Vic clubs tell me CFC is in the minority on this one. All but one of those visited give their Members free entry to their family days. That one other club has member-entry on a gold coin donation.

IIRC they used to charge to get in years ago (I'm taking 5-6 years ago) to get into all of the family days. And they used to have them during the season, so maybe 4-5 a year. I don't think $5 is too much to ask considering the players/staff are pretty much giving up a whole day.

Also, you will be fine getting stuff signed sumo. That's the idea of the family day, enabling the kids to play with the players & get photos/books signed.

You wont have a problem getting signatures on the day.
Most players will hold your kid for a photo too.
Got a photo of Kouta and my son who was 1 month old at the time. Problem is he had shocking cradle cap all over his forehead at the time (my son not Kouta) so i'm not sure hes going to want to show it around too mmuch

Sorry but that is a disgrace. :evil:

The idea is to promote the club to our supporters and entice the families along for a bit of fun while promoting the club. The fundraising starts through the gates through merchandise, memberships, etc......and NOT on entry. Charging people for entry is just plain stupid and I am sick of us crying poor and using this as an excuse. :twisted:

surely for the family day families should get in for free. Otherwise it's just another day.

Inexcusable that they'd charge - a set fee as high as $5-$10 especially.

How many families will turn up no realising there is an entry fee & have to pay to avoid disappointing their kids?

I can't really understand these grievances. With all due respect, what's $5 to most people? Also the money obviously goes to the club so whether or not it's right to charge an admission fee, you're helping out the club.

The club will potentially see thousands of dollars raised from this.

The point is that it's not an event that is normaly charged for, and hardly any other club members have to pay for it. It's bad PR for the club for it not be free, and, as you can see, it's upset at least a few people here already.
