It's a shame to watch someone throw away an opportunity to play footy at the highest level. Hope he gets himself together and gets on with his life.

does anyone actually know what he has done as it is not potential unrealised - he is carving it up for bullants and on form, should be in the carlton team. I dont think we can bag his performance, all was can really do is ask why he is not in the team - who has he or hasnt he slept with to be treated like this???

He must have done something to get on Dennis' dark side.

Apart from the indescretion early last year, he was serviceable without being outstanding. Got injured in R17 and as a 21 YO should have been given opportunity this year.

Time will tell why Karl's career is over.

I hope he isn't gone.....

I read/hear the rumours of him out during the week. HE is 21 years old. Of course he is out enjoying himself. HE is only playing 2's football so what is there to inspire him to greater heights?

Who knows what is going inside his head but I watched him very closely in the 1/4 time, 3/4 time huddles with the Bullants.HE encourages the other players. HE stands there with his arms of the shoulder of his his team mates listening intently to Barry Mitchell. Certainly LOOKS like a player who is interested and trying but maybe a bit despondant about playing two's football and feeling like the end of his AFL career is near.

HE has all the tools to be a great player for us. I hope to hell he gets another chance. I hope to hell that this is all part of the big plan that Dennis and the match commitee have in place. He would have helped our defence no end this year. When Thornton was out, when Livo was out. He may well have helped us win a few more games.....maybe thats why he isn't playing? Easy target. Drop Karl Norman to the two's and teach him a lesson and no one will even notice (except Carlton supposrters) his absence. HE can help this team. He has far more talent than most on our list....Is it possible that this is Dennis way of a) manipulating our team selections and match ups to help ensure a priority pick and b) making Norman realse that this is IT. LAST chance in AFL football ala Livo (last year) and Fev (when Denis first arrived FEv though he was gone.)????????????

I DAMN WELL HOPE SO.....because players of his size/speed/ability are rare.

No, I just think something has happened behind the scenes and a decision was made.

remember the last time he played, didn't he get 5 kicked on him by Tarrant? look, he's good but he's not the messiah

Good post. I would like to know how many of Norman's critics who claim his attitude is poor are in a legitimate position to make that comment, and how many are just being sheep...

It is absolute crap that norman hasnt done enough to be in the ones. At every vfl game that i have gone to he has comprehensively beaten his man - there is not to much more a team can ask of a defender on the best opposition forward.

He doesnt get in the best because he doesnt get 30 cheap possies like davies etc.

And those of you who say he has a crap attitude, please explain what recent experiences u r basing it on, other than hearsay and conjecture!!!!

Norman is one of our few really talented youngsters. Half our side (at least) have abysmal foot skills, Norman has sublime foot skills. He can play well on Matera one week and Troy Simmonds the next. He was really good last year. We pay our coaching group a fortune to get the best out of our players. So they need to do that with Norman. Maybe Norman can't be helped but we'd want to be very sure, because he has lots of talent.
