I wasn't born in 1970 but have watched the game a few times and his heroics. A true Carlton legend.

An iconic figure also for the rest of the game with his involvement in Champion Data.

RIP.

Brought us a lot of joy in the second last game he played for the club.

Condolences to his friends and family

Very sad news. I knew Ted had been unwell for some time, but still jars to hear of his passing.
I was there in 1970, thank you Ted for the joy you brought to so many people.
RIP

RIP Ted Hopkins.

Before my time as a Blues supporter, but a name that will live forever.

I am old enough to remember the 1970 Grand final, listening on the radio at home with my sister.
Very sad news and as someone said his name will live on forever.

No joke, I was there in 1970 and behind the Punt Rd goals standing on some empty Fosters.

Time does not stand still.

Thanks for the Premiership Teddy.

And you revolutionised statistical analysis of our game with your "Champion Data"

Thrilled to have met you.

Great innings.

LEGEND.

Maybe Colin Tully will do a better job of tagging Teddy Hopkins “up there” than he did “down here”.

I'm sure he and Barassi are having a good laugh together about that 1970 flag.
What a day
R.I.P. Teddy and thanks

Lucky that grand final was then and not in this era. He would have got interchanged after his first goal.

RIP Teddy

I still feel spine tingling when I watch those Hopkins jighlights in the 70 GF.

I was there in 1970. Just a kid. Really didn't think we would win before the game, but with 5 minutes to go, I was in Blue Heaven.

Legend.
