Welcome 'back' to Princes Park Vossy.
Let's get this club that you supported as a kid back to number 1.

The last time I remember seeing Vossy at PP was back in his playing days in Carlton vs Lions game. Kouta was unstoppable at times.

I think this game in 1998 as I think it was mid season.
https://finalsiren.com/MatchDetails.asp ... 0866823518

or this in 2000 but that is a Round 1 game
https://finalsiren.com/MatchDetails.asp ... 0f69f797e9

At one centre bounce Kouta raced under the ruckman, plucked the ball out the air with one hand, shrugged of Voss and exploded past a few others and lobbed it in the goal square where someone (Whits) took the mark and goaled. I had my bino's on Voss and he just stood in the centre square, hands on hips, shaking his head, with half a grin talking to Lappin.

If I was a lip reader I'm sure he was saying 'How the @#$% do we stop this freak.'

Good times.....

Regards Cazzesman

Voss first day of preseason has to show the whole playing group , the clip of the 2002 gf when burns hits him and Voss gets up to handball to simon black for the goal and go gives burns a serve !!

And then asks the playing group , how bad do you want you this opportunity to be great !!

Regards Cazzesman

I wasnt sure about him either, but he starts off having denied the immortal enemies Collingwood 1 and Essendon* 2 flags as a player (obviously as part of a team).

Then you watch videos like this, and you go, he had some serious talent, and was hard as nails.

I’m looking forward to about May next year when we are playing well and winning consistently, and Posters are still posting/arguing in the COVID19 Thread in the middle of an exciting game! :hitcomputer:

Wasn’t my first choice, but what do I know?

Has played AFL - tick
Has won a premiership - tick x 3
Hard at it - tick
Brownlow winner is a bonus
Senior experience - tick
Extensive experience with a finals side as a coach - tick
Went through an extensive process again which proves he wants it - tick
Carlton supporter growing up a bonus

Welcome (back?) to Carlton Voss the Boss - whip this list hard all off season and whip them harder just to make sure of it.

Go Blues

Our last two coaches from the Lions have worked out pretty well.

If Vossy can make the likes of Stocker, Kemp, Dow ect half the player that Kenny Hunter and Dominator were we will have no17 in the cabinet for sure. That act in the G.F , where he gave that hand ball off to Lappin after being decked and jumping straight back up is one of the most inspirational things I’ve seen in a game of footy. Pies had absolutely no answer. Good luck Vossy.

Just want him to change our culture towards the positive.
Tough and determined players.

Is this important? Or just an added bonus?

Do we have a nickname for Gerard yet?
Or is it just Whiteley or Wheatley?
Can we run a poll?

Just glad we've been through a proper and thorough process. Obviously it doesn't guarantee success, but it's far more likely to deliver than when you simply run a popularity contest (like we did with Teague's appointment).

At the very least he will harden them up. I'll drink to that.

Nice to read all the positivity and dare I say it, almost 'love' in the air for Voss.

When's Walshy back from the Gulag to give us his views? :yikes: :yikes:

Or has he been traded for a late 5th round pick and joined the 'Punt Road End'? :sly: :sly:

I’m happy to give him the opportunity to succeed - but we absolutely need to nail the assistant line coach appointments as well.

Congratulations Michael Voss - the work starts now? :thumbsu:

But beware the 5 goal run on.
