What a roller coaster.
Poor first 1.5 quarters. Had a lot of play but couldn’t convert and then just let them walk the ball in for goals.
After that, it was great. Continues to plug away but actually started hitting the scoreboard and didn’t let them slingshot off half back. Really should have won by more.
That Cottrell mark, goal and celebration was fantastic. Took the responsibility.
TDK great.
Willo and SPS very good.
Walsh fantastic as per usual.
Weiters rock solid again.
Plowman gave Papley a bath. Absolutely smashed him.
Owies quiet on debut.
Gov needs a rocket.

Great comeback ... great tackle by Crippa ... and FU umpire and Lewis Taylor...

Ok, I've got a few thoughts.

One is we should always play to win, both tactically and with team selection. None of this "play the kids" stuff. Play the best available team. Always

Secondly, I've been a little bit critical of TDK, I thought he was outstanding. A real turning point in my opinion.

Finally sps seemed back, pleasing to see.

Thanks boys, you made me smile!

I think the balance we have is good with the younger guys, we bring them in but not too many at once.

So so good to be on the right end of a game like this for once.

Absolutely livid with the first quarter and a half. Shambolic.

Credit to the players for sticking wth it and grinding their way back in to the game.

But god damn we have to fix our F50 entries. We simply waste too many chances and get nowhere near the scoreboard reward for our effort and control of the game.

We made that a lot harder than we should have.

But we won. Somehow.

I didn't enjoy the 7 goal head start, but nice come back.

Is it me or does Cottrell have a bit of Mitch Robinson in him? Nailed the kick to seal the game, outstanding.

Weiters, still adding more justification for all Australian.

Plowman, smashed Papley. Loved it. We don't need Papley.

Walsh, if we must persist with dual captaincy, then sign him up. Although, I'd like to see him outright captain next year with Doc vice.

SPS, what do you know, his best impact came via the midfield. Keep him there, or at least play him in the rotation more regularly.

TDK, a gun, and will only get better.

Cripps, best game in weeks. Don't bother with the drop punt in front of goals, just go round the corner!

Cons

Murphy, limited impact (again) and should have nailed the snap in the third (?)

Shitty midfield to forward connection. Just stop bombing in hope (AGAIN).

Limited small forwards front and square at critical times (and generally).

To be fair we’ve had a decent rub of the green in close ones.

Newnes after siren goal
Townsend not making distance
Taylor missing (albeit dodgy free kick)

Only real one considered unfortunate was the Robbie gray one, but even then we were lucky they kept missing before that.

Overall I think it’s roughly worked out evenly for what we deserve in close ones this year.

Can't believe we won that. 1st qtr and early 2nd were diabolical. We have matured as that would have been a smashing a year ago.
Great game by Plowman on Papley, maybe offer a 2nd round now he has been devalued a little

Plowman awesome, he’s very solid and dependable most of the time anyway.

He can run but not a good user or decision maker.

I forgot to mention another Con, McGovern. Far out what a horrific failure he has been.

Basically unsighted and no impact at all this season (or last for that matter).

What to do????????????

Over the moon.
Believe , babeee
Enjoy the victory
Put the negatives in the back pack

my favourite improver was sps
Right from the first bounce in the day he was 'on'.
In the wet he stood out.
I saw him delivering in the forwardline

Walsh BOG without seeing the stats

Cripps goal was a relief.
Cottrell moment
Really enjoyed Murph

The biggest buzz that confirmed my hunch all along TDK
Posted b4 the game he can ruck Mark kick handball shepherd punch hit push the right way. Add some muscle and he will be the best ruckman in the comp . Amazing drafted pick 30

Well drop him for starters, and don’t play him until he dominates in the VFL next year. When is his contract up?

Complete waste of space at the moment.

I've criticised SPS as much as anyone, excellent tonight.
TDK super exciting.
Walsh, Fisher, Setters, Cripps, Plowman...all great.
Willo early, Cunners late. Weiters as usual, Levi persisted.

Great to win but 7 goal start to the 15 th team disappointing
How about playing 4 quarters for a change
14 weeks after the Melbourne game still doing it wake up and bring intensity

Excellent Walsh and Weitering
Plowman also very good
TDK needs to continue to play -get games into him he will be a talent
SPS much better
Thought H was ok
Willo continues to improve
Thought Simpson better tonight
Murph just going

McGovern and Casboult fairly ordinary
Owies didn’t do much either did Cunningham
Cottrell unlikely goal kicker and mark

He’s a very good player, no doubt, but I kinda recall Cripps had a pretty reasonable year last year too.. I’m happy for Cripps and Doc to continue to grow in the role and let Walsh improve his game

SPS, what do you know, his best impact came via the midfield. Keep him there, or at least play him in the rotation more regularly.

I thought SPS still played HBF. Perhaps a little higher up and around the contest more, but HBF none the less. Showed plenty to the coaches and might be pushing for more midfield time though.

TDK, a gun, and will only get better.

Cripps, best game in weeks. Don't bother with the drop punt in front of goals, just go round the corner!

Cons

Murphy, limited impact (again) and should have nailed the snap in the third (?)

Interesting comparison between Murphy and Cripps. Got about the same amount of footy. Cripps tackle on Kennedy and his goal probably set his game apart from Murphy’s, but Cripps butchered 2 kicks at important times tonight.

Shitty midfield to forward connection. Just stop bombing in hope (AGAIN).

Limited small forwards front and square at critical times (and generally).

Before tonight I thought simmo should retire, but we may still need him down back, to let the younger guys mature around an old head.
