Copying the Richmond model is one thing. Hiring Richmond people is another.

Our model is top heavy, and dysfunctional, unlike any other in the league...

I didn't say anything about hiring Richmond people, however we have 2 richmond people in our Executive Leadership team

attempts were made to replace SOS with Graham Wright or Dom Ambrogio but unfortunately both men kindly rejected our offers. Graeme Allan was considered but being the man to replace his mate SOS didn't sit well with him.

So If a suitable replacement isn't found, SOS survives.

Tom Browne running with the "he's been sakced" angle.

Which could just as easily mean a new contract to be signed tomorrow.

Tom Browne on channel 7 news saying he will stand down after the draft.
Some conflict with Liddle one of the reasons.

If Liddle wins its “an either him or me battle” against SOS, with Mark Logudice then Liddle is well and truly the man for us.

Disgraceful if true by our club, board and management. He couldn't have done anymore. Really is embarrassing for us as a club.

Not sure what to make of this… if true:

Quote:
Browne said Liddle had been “making his own appointments and reshaping the footy department”.

Either the SOS fallout is such that he needs to do this to keep a semblance of functionality, or he's overstepping his role and micro managing.

"making his own appointments and reshaping the footy dept"

isn't that his job along with Lloyd? Certainly not SOS's job?

Could be as simple as
a) "my work is done here" and wants to move onto other challenges and business ventures in his life
b) doesn't want to be put in a difficult position re. his sons or be perceived to be in conflict with their progress at the club
c) is over the AFL's manipulation / orchestration / restraint in his attempts to land players to the club

I'd suggest all of the above. Would rather promote Agresta than bring Kinnear Beatson back to Carlton however.
