No combo is a guarantee. And as we've recently discovered - someone from the Clarkson tree isn't a guarantee (unless you're Carlton). :banghead:

Damien Hardwick (Richmond), Adam Simpson (West Coast) and Luke Beveridge (Western Bulldogs) have flags...Cameron (GWS) and Fagan (Brisbane) haven't put a foot wrong and Dew (GC) played under Clarko and looks alright to me.

Culturally we have a coach killing pedigree it’s going to be very hard to change that.

What we have to remember is when the club appointed Bolts they went through an extensive process and we still ended up with a coach who could not get us competitive

Here's hoping with fingers and toes crossed it works out differently this time.

Popular ground swell and a media campaign almost forced us to pick Bolton last time. Let's hope we don't fall into the same trap this time.

Campo isn't even on the list above, but his name is getting thrown around a bit.

As well as the term "favourite son" … erm, I guess that's more polite than "downhill skiier" which used to get bandied about on TBV back in the day. And going to the cheats didn't endear him to many, either.

Anyway, what do we make of the Campo option?

At least we're good at something.

But in the old days at least we used to sack them AFTER they had won a premiership.

In my view it's an option worthy of consideration. The question I'd have, would he want the job ?

Fox footy pre game

Paul Roos is pushing very very hard right now for a mentor role next year.

Dancing around it but clearly angling.

Saying we need to be different and a young or new coach would definitely need a mentor.

Keep Teague as coach and hire Roos as a mentor.

Teague was really good on SEN today.

You don’t want to see him actually coach first?

Let’s see how we go with him in charge first.
Remember, even Barker started off his caretaker stint ok before the wheels totally fell off the wagon,

Yup if he’ll take on the challenge do it , let him select a team of support coaches able to develop our youngsters .
We don’t have the time to make the senior coach selection complicated.
A coach with expertise, experience and hopefully hard edged too.
Simple fundamentals applied correctly. Otherwise will be in the wilderness for a lot longer.

I'm down to 4 coaches, for now at least (I could change my mind...lol), Ratten, Campo, Caracella and, being the incumbent, Teague. Hence a very good performance suddenly gives Teague the inside running as it did for Roos in 2002 at Sydney.

From that list, I'm down to 1.

From yesterday's presser, I really liked the way he talked. I've always liked this guy - let's just see if his tactics and message can get through to the group.

We've got the players, they just need to feel comfortable playing the game they know how to play.
