I don't think he meant Casboult is going, I think we aren't really trying that hard to keep him.

We have probably offered him 450-500k for 2 years and if anyone beats that he can walk. Probably all parties are aware of this too.

Here's hoping someone dumb offers a 4 year deal.

And yes I'm sure we are a massive chance for Kelly

I read in the HUN today that to get band 1 compensation it has to be a long term deal in the vicinity of $800,000 a year now.
If he leaves for a 4 year deal worth $500,000 as reported then any compo will be pretty average, he is worth more to us than that sort of compensation.

We all know the AFL use the makey uppey rule re compensation. They'll give us a 2nd rounder.

Bolts is not the problem.

Have a look at the cattle he had to play again.

Bolton didn't make Graham kick an easy pass 25m off target and out of bounds.
Bolton doesn't make players tackle as though their arms are made of spaghetti.

However Bolton is the coach that has been at the helm of a team that hasn't kicked more than 100"pts for over a year, and averages 10-12 goals a week this year, whilst winning 5 games! Been very patient however unless those close losses start becoming wins, pressure will come!!!

I agree - I mean how long does a 5 year rebuild take - 5 years or something?

With the injuries to key players, what do you expect?

Brittain and Ratten both got heavily criticised and eventually sacked for playing the same game style that Bolton has introduced.
I am not critical of it as when you know you are short on cattle you have to try maintain the ball and slow it down to limit the damage and hopefully you are close enough in the end to pinch a win.
Needs a forward that can impact the scoreboard

I thought under Ratten Carlton were too easy to score against. Not so with Bolton in charge.

To be honest I was never sure what the game plan was under Ratten. I thought there was plenty
of give it Judd in it tho. Bolts' plan is pretty clear...sort out defence first and build from there. Defence will only look better once we start adding midfield depth

Byrne is listed as having a groin injury. Terrible luck given his past 12 months. Hope it is not too severe.

I'll accept that we are focussing on defence first this year

However, next year is a different story. Surely this won't be accepted if we are still struggling to kick more than 10 goals in most games

Don't win games by simply trying to minimise the damage
