I thought he screwed them over.

Port are equally screwed by the AO deal. Both teams were rushed into signing it.

The one thing I will say in his favour is I heard M Rucci talking about the Power when they were struggling and how they employed 2 part time officers to organise school and community visits to try and build loyalty among schoolkids for the Power brand. Only to find that the Crows had 5 or 6 full timers doing the same thing. They were really focused on getting the next generation hooked.
So maybe he understands about community and fan engagement.

He's not a mate of Sticks or a member of the 95 flag team or the current culture so IMO that's a good start.

All the best Stephen!

Interesting that the banners in the background of Trigg's presser were the AFL ones not ours also.

Or you can think outside of the square.
Taking another Swann wont help us.

Youd have to think in his almost 15 years at Adelaide Triggs is spent..
Thats why he had to move on.....

I hear the Judge needed somebody that understood football matters.. because hes not that cluey with footy.. hes a passionate supporter.
Probably means McKay will stay on...... with Trigg,

Not a new up and coming CEO and a great footy manager... no no no!!!!

weird club

Welcome aboard Stephen!!

Good point.
We need to really increase of presence in schools and in the community in general, particularly throughout the whole of the Northern suburbs, where there's already an established link to the community through our association with the Northern Blues.

disappointed that they didn't find a gun outside football industry - very very unimaginative and is why the industry struggles to be innovative and clubs are run in an ordinary pedestrian way

Egon Zender got their money easily -just cherry picking CEO from another AFL club

Sub judice is going to get it in the neck if Trigg does anything approaching what he did at Adelaide with Tippet contract

Bemused that sporting industry seems to have a separate set of rules for its executives - ie robson and trigg as opposed to corporate Australia where such defalcations would sideline an executive - shows what amateur hour that these footy clubs are

A black mark for sub judice in this choice and lets hope his decisions in the future have more integrity and he uses integrity as a benchmark for selecting key people at our football club

Glad we went through a process. But christ it's a bad look for Carlton of all clubs to employ someone with a history of salary cap cheating (even if he took the fall for others as is apparently the case).

Importantly he comes with the AFL’s full endorsement.
Unquote

Can someone please advise why it is important that he comes with the AFL's full endorsement.

This appointment has me befuddled and betwixed

It is staggering that Adelaide would allow him to continue working there for the next month.

In a limited capacity.
Probably just tie up any bits and pieces before he goes.

Like anything, you get what you look for.

Our search criteria didn't include innovation, social media awareness, stakeholder engagement because these aren't things our board understand or value.
I just feel we searched on the same criteria that got us Swann.
It's not the recruiter'e fault. They were given parameters and delivered on that basis.
