Essentially 3 reasons
Yes he knows a lot about footy on and off the field with much experience.
But to me he comes across with too much aloofness.
He is also getting on. Now that’s not a disadvantage if you have your faculties and marbles in check but it is if you’re living in the past. I personally as a supporter want to club to move away from that. It hasn’t worked with previous icons in administration roles at the club
Thirdly I want a woman at the helm compared to a bloke
Why
Because in my 62 years 45 years working with people in various forms women are
Better listeners
Better communicators
Better at multi tasking
Better at judging people which 90% of time is based on not what you actually say
Less ego driven
Kinnersly fits the bill
Besides being a woman she has all these traits
She has had experience at board level
Her football experience and experience in business is first class
Personally I thought Sayers was a bit of a tool
His handling of the Ross Lyon pending coaching appointment by Carlton was dumb and outdated
It also lacked perception
Now my mail was when Sayers went back to the board to get Lyon’s appointment approved it was Kinnersly who voted against it and it had to be unanimous.
Obviously the hush money to the woman who was allegedly sexually harassed by Lyon at a Dockers function had something to do with Kinnersly saying no to him given her position at Our Watch
But clearly she also new Lyon was passed it as a coach
To win a flag you have to be top 4 to 6 in scores against
Something Lyon achieves nearly every year he has coached teams
But you generally have to be in the top half for scoring
In the last 2 years the Saints have been the fourth worst scoring team. Nothing has changed and they get 2 defenders with top 15 draft picks. SOS is Lyons mate and guess where he ends up
He is a smug arrogant character who was employed essentially by another bloke

Bottom line I want to club to have a new direction
Sayers to his credit was better than Mark, Sticks etc
but to me the club is still stuck in the past if Fitzpatrick gets the job
