Sydney (away) - Loss
Collingwood - 50/50
St Kilda - Win
North - Loss
Gold Coast (away) - 50/50
Freo (Home) - Loss
Bulldogs - Win
Richmond - Win
Bombers - 50/50
Port - Win

North will beat us through rebound footy.

Swans are too good

Pies/Bombers anything could happen

Freo defensively will stifle us

Gold Coast is a big danger game now.

At best maybe 7 wins and sneak into 7-8th. Otherwise we are a big chance to miss IMO unless we can mentally get over bogie teams and win more than 3 in a row.

Bombers - We will thrash them.
Port (away) - Win

Almost have every player back on deck after the Collingwood game if we get no more injuries. A decent run to the finals with a good mix of tough and easy games. A few will be close (Freo, North & Swans).

We could do some damage in the finals if everything falls our way. We did just only lose to the Premiership Favorites 1 man down for 3 quarters and dodgy umpiring.

I have a good feeling about the run home.
I seriously believe we will beat Sydney. I think that will be the turning point.

For some reason (not sure logic is involved) I have the same feeling

Being optimistic each week then losing is wearing me down. I'll try saying we'll get pumped this week!

Their future is in their own hands. As inconsistent as they were last game, the umpires were irrelevant. Had we taken the many chances when they came our way the result would have taken care of itself. It is all about managing what you can control.
Players win or lose games not officials.

I don't entirely agree with those sentiments. That might be a phrase you roll out to the players, but in reality a game that's decided by a goal or two, incorrect decisions can have a bearing on the result.

Yes there is an element of truth to that and we have all seen where a decision decides the game. Basically in the big picture it gets back to making your own luck. Do the right things often enough and you get the right result. Blaming officials is a cop out.

Whatever confidence I had before today just got flushed away with the Port win.

I can live with the Bombers and Hawks losses but the Tigers and Saints losses are season killers.

September 2014 maybe.

How I (unfortunately) see the remainder of the year panning out, based on the predictor...

1. Hawthorn 84
2. Geelong 76
3. Fremantle 70
4. Essendon** 68
5. Sydney 66
6. Collingwood 64
7. Richmond 60
8. Adelaide 44
9. Carlton 40
10. West Coast 36
11. Port 36
12. Brisbane 36
13. North 32
14. Gold Coast 28
15. Bulldogs 24
16. St Kilda 20
17. Melbourne 8
18. GWS 0

Being the pessimist that I am, I just can't see us winning enough of those 50/50 games (Norf, Scum, Filth, Tigers and Freo) to get in there. Would love to be proved wrong though...

(how awesome would it be though if we made the finals after Essendon* got kicked out? )
