Ok...I'm watching the Cats v Hawks match.

To shout the bleeding obvious!....

- Carlton lack imposing players who lead by example (Judd aside) -> read Jake Niall's "Unleash the Mongrel"!!!
- We have too many LAZY players who lack discipline and do not bleed for the jumper every week!
- WE NEED A BIG FF!!!!!!!!!
- We drop our heads too easily! Please bring back the Carlton SWAGGER!

Yes I know we have a new coach (who WILL bring changes)
Yes we have a new game plan
Yes we have some personnel missing
Yes I know it's round 1.

Again though, these areas need to be addressed.

Get rid of Hampson! I've seen enough to warrant his dismissal. Give Rowe a game.
Other's I will lay off for now.

Next week's match is an 8 point game, if you like.

I have faith in MM....for now.

Go Blues!

No, however Marc Murphy should stop what he's doing now and watch Joel Selwood if he isn't already.

Largely agree with the softness and lack of mongrel.

I'm not killing Hampson off though.

Not sure if you saw the game on Thursday night BJ, but Hammer presented time and time and time again. Took some good marks and created a contest. Kicking let him down, but provided a lot more of a target than big Levi. I think there are one or two others that should be in the gun before Hampson

Last year expected top 4 finish - this year expected to rebuild/bottom out.
This with a premiership coach in-charge.....hmmmm

Agree. I've said it numerous times. If we can be 6-6 or even 7-5 at half way we are in a great position. We are a tough first 5 games. If we are 2-3 that's okay.

Injuries aside I expect to have a very strong second half of the year. We will be much more assured in our style and game plan. Players such as Bootsma, Watson, Casboult should be benefiting from increased game time and guys like Graham & Menzel will be adding some excitement.

Scotland, Waite & Ellard will add to our side as well.

MM will also have a better idea of our best players and who can play the roles required.

Too many people judge on one week. Doesn't give anywhere near the right picture of what's happening.

I didn't expect us to be top 4 last year. I don't think we'll bottom out this year.

Not saying bottom out but rebuilding a game structure takes time

Doesn't matter who's in charge, anywhere, we won't win a flag until we play GWS at Princes Park!!!

If one of Yazz's points had been a goal on thursday I don't think this thread would exist.

Or until Freo make a prelim. They haven't been able to do it since their last visit in 2006 so fairs fair, its their turn and we just have to wait.

Our structure by end of yr will be completely different to the start of the year.

Part of this will be due to the players taking the time to adapt, but imo a huge part of it will be malthouse needing to adapt his plan/game style to suit the players we have on hand.

Malthouse has said it himself earlier in the year that we couldnt just adopt the pies game plan due to a different mix of players - atm our current structure removes the greatest strength of the team - run/carry/speed across the ground.

Look at the game style we have atm - players pause and wait for numbers to build up down the line/boundary and bomb it to out number KFs, we structure up poorly for crumbing opportunities, and indeed clearances (something that we've been very good at previously). This will change over the next few rounds as players become more accustomed to what Mick is asking for, AND as Mick gets a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the playing group.
