John Barker - Stay or go?

I know goal kicking is a concern but I think the major issue is that we do not have a structure or pattern to our play up forward and we don't separate and stretch the defences. This makes it too easy for teams to play a sweeper and drop off their men to assist. Barker was recruited based on his time with the Hawks however they had Buddy plus Roughhead as their key position players with Rioli and Puopolo also up forward. For the last few years we have had Eddie as CHF and all our forwards would run to the same spot and compete in the air against eahc other and our mids would simply bomb long.

Puopolo was after his time. How long have we had Barker now, 5th year?

Saw Barker in terviewed before the game... all i can say is OMG!!!.. this guy is a forward line coach???? :oops:

Can't really comment because I am not in the inner sanctum.

I still think our main problem is what is

(a) what we have or haven't recruited to play inside 50 ... Waite Father/Son ... Henderson a trade ... equals bugger all recruitment of target forwards in around a decade.

(b) what is happening or not happening between the arcs ... shocking kicking inside 50.

While I agree the appointment of Barker is both questionable and difficult to praise, some of the comments in here are a little disappointing.

It would be nice if criticism could stick to his footballing talents or lack thereof.
