It's okay, Teaguey's full name is David Mohammed Teague. :smoking:

Ratten is decent, honest and very good - but events conspire against him.

So the new young coach is the one that brings us the 17th.

He will appear to most as a rather uninspired choice.

But he will have special qualities that are at first, only known to a few.

He seems fairly quiet - but there is an awful lot going on in his mind.

He is a fast and deep thinker - a skillful strategist - This is his specialty

He is chosen for his football brain.

If I am not familiar with people I see - then I dont know their names.

All I can say is that I think there might be a 'M' in this mans surname.

But I can tell you about the circumstances of what I believe will be the year of our 17th flag.

I don't know what to think anymore.

It's a miracle!
Sounds exactly like David Teaguem to me.

Mm.
Does he have a nickname? Sure sounds like him otherwise. And remember, even Nostradamus said Hister.(?) So meh what's a letter or two out eh?
Go Teagueyum you beauty.

Spoke very Wisely and made it clear that he is very different from Bolton- Style wise, so let's see what Game plan he will dish out....

This makes the Brisbane game an interesting one to Watch.......He did promise to make drastic changes to the team but that didn't happen.....

I guess it is drastic in that the team out there this week won't be the third least experienced of any 22 out there for the season.

Just reading the Blueman thread, it is at least crystal clear that the umpiring hasn't changed...
The rest, I am not too sure about

Cheers

I don't know if Teague can coach or not but he has said all the right things so far. No double speak and cliches and one liners.
I hope he succeeds and ends up with the job full time.
Gave his all as a player

He has been a breath of fresh air so far.

But that really wouldn’t have been hard.

The cliches and messages were very very stale.

Just watched the Teague presser from today. Possibly the most refreshing from a Carlton coach since the Ratten years. Made one realise the waffle that Bolton spewed out. Proof will be in the pudding I guess, but if we're noticing it, I'm sure the players are. imagine how many times they've heard the word 'journey' in 4 years.

Let's wait until he loses a game.
We'll see if the support to his approach lasts.

Hopefully the players realise letting the reins go a bit doesn't mean there is any lesser need for defensive effort. If that drops off, the whiteboard and constant meetings will soon be reintroduced.
The interesting thing for me is how they play today. Yes everyone can say "go out and play to your strengths" but exactly what does that mean to each individual player? Will Paddy Dow run and bounce more than he has? Will Sam Walsh push his game more inside than it has been?

The small forward is the interesting option IMO. Who will play more prominently in that role? Could it be Daisy? Cuningham?
Someone will have a more active role IMO.

Ratten’s pressers were the pits. He spent most of them regurgitating stats.

I'm disappointed that they didn't bring Digby Morell in for an assistant role.

Have been wondering about all the talk of playing to strengths.
It’s what the players and supporters need to hear ... but you just can’t flick a switch in six days.
And there’s no point kicking 100 points if the other side kicks 140.
Not sure we can prevail in a shootout against a form side just yet.
So, will be very interesting - particularly the fwd line set up as Teague will finally get to do it his way.
Do love what’s he’s saying this week.
It’s nice to go from almost dreading this game to having so much renewed enthusiasm.
