I was there at the Yarra Falls End - right behind the goals
Remember travelling on the Green Chunder Bus from Bulleen that went down Johnston Street and then on to Garden City - got there at 8.00am in the morning before the gates had opened.
Fantastic game - I remember Rod Ashman playing as a decoy Full Forward in that game - he would go up for the mark tap it behind his head and rove his own taps to kick a goal - he must of kicked 2 or 3 this way.
The bus trip home was fantastic - wanted to give it to the Collingwood Supporters - but not many travelled back home to the Eastern Suburbs in those days.
We had only won 1 of our first 6 games - Ian Stewart had "resigned"

Serge had been caretaker coach for 3 games then George Harris appointed Jezza in an inspired move to coach.
Jezza nearlly took us to the flag in his first year as we won 14 of the next 17 games - a final round loss to St Kilda

- at Moorabbin costing us the double chance.
