It's a bit ironic now, after the weekend's game. The ad says stuff about Carlton showing this year how we'll be a force to be reckoned with etc etc....I'm pretty sure that won't be the thinking now...

early transcript:

"pretty disappointing effort on the weekend...blah, blah....expect a different effort this week.....blah, blah....very young team and there will be inconsistencies....blah, blah.....a lot of upside to the playing group....blah, blah....doesn't regret leaving Port and has no hard feelings towards "Choco"......blah, blah........never said that he would only go to Collingwood....blah, blah....Dennis is a great coach.... blah, blah.... very happy at Carlton...blah, blah...would be thrilled to be captain one day...."

Expect him to use the word "definately" four or five times during the interview.

Cynical? Moi?

I'm predicting he will mention Simon Wiggins once, Eddie Betts once and Rambo Stallone 47 times.

Once again, helping out a team-mate in trouble.

Can't wait to hear your theory then on Stevo making way for Teague.

most intersting thing he said was when asked who"s coming through in defence>>>due to the Stafford mismatch...he said...
"Livo due soon...no-one rates him outside, but in the club he is and has done a good job on Lloyd and Neitz
Good to have T-Bird back as he's invaluable
Lance drops back to help out...which is great...
Hartlett and Raso ...youngs being groomed..."

..
..
..
..
..
That's it.
Not sure if it was a mistake, but..No Norman, No Morrell...

Oh uh :?

If Morrell and Norman were any good they both would've been played last week. There respective careers are close to being over I'm afraid.

Morell has played well in the twos over the last three weeks. I have recently seen an interview with him and he really has the desire to get back in the firsts. I am sure that he will be in this coming week. He should have been in last week.

Norman... will be gone at the end of the season.

Yeah I remember reading that at the time. I think it was a reaction to his insipid display on Medhurst during the Fremantle game which ultimately cost us that game

Digby has been crucified by our playing him as a key position defender when he simply isn't a defender. Same thing is happening at the moment to Deluca and because naturally he's not finding it easy, people want him dropped!

The fact is that these guys are both forwards and in Deluca's case a part time ruckman. They are not defenders and it is little surprise that they struggle down back being asked to do a job that is foreign to them. Clearly they both try very hard but at the end of the day they are not defenders.

Bringing Digby in and playing him in defence is just going to see him get beaten again. Playing Deluca down back is only going to produce similar results. The problem is that it's hard to play all of Deluca, Digby, Fev and Lance in the one forward line. Maybe then it's time for Lance to go down back and Digby comes into the side and plays in the forward line. Fev at full forward and Morrell as like a centre half forward. Deluca as the third tall. I'd try this out and see how it goes.
