Just found out Judd is on a 6 year contract, that will keep him at the club until he turns 30.

I could have sworn it was always 5 years, and I never heard otherwise.

Maybe I read it was 6 a dozen times and have forgotten (as I have a brain like a sieve), but yeah...

woohoo.

6 years.

It's news to me! :-D

They tried to sign him up for longer but apparently he is in the box seat to finish his playing career at Ninthmond

Yeah, it was in the Paper on Saturday. I didn't know either.

That means that he'll most likely finish his career at Carlton........... which is special.

Massive risk though. But if it all works out then absolute gold.

So, theoretically...

...that's 5 brownlows and 5 premierships left right?

I would have thought that the club has got back what he will earn in his contract...

They should have signed him for longer..... :P

Maybe 6 Brownlows. Garry Lyon reckons he is a good chance this year.

You can't help bad luck such as knee reconstructions, however, the risk taken in regard to the groin appears to be well worth it :!:

I think this was a good move for the club to sign Judd to a short term contract. Signing him to a 20 year deal would have been daft.

I would assume there is some sort of injury clause.

Absolutely, unequivocally without a doubt.

If we get him through the next 5 years missing a game here and there without any major injuries, ala Kouta, then its the best money EVER spent in the AFL. EVER.

He's probably already paid back his contract in this years budget, if not pretty close. However, at the end of the day, he's here to help us win premierships. And if he's not on the park for an extended period of time then it hurts us massively in the area we're all here for

1 year down, 5 to go. Am i nervous, yes. Am i excited, you flower bet i am.

yeah it was in either the age or the hun earlier this year and i was just as shocked as you to find out (according to this journo) he is getting only $4mil for 6 years (with 1.2mil iirc for the first and second season??), which means he earns less than fev.

that visy ambassadorial role must be a better job than i thought.

I was hoping there would be a poll.

Did you know about the contract length?

Yes

No
