I ran into Stephen Kernahan on the golf course early Saturday morning...he played in the group behind mine - and as the day progressed I managed to get a few words from him.

Me: "How are you playing Sticks?"
SK: "Oh could be better"

Me: "Probably were a little worried in the coaches box last night"
SK: "Not me mate - always thought we'd run over the top of them"

Me: "And Denis??"
SK: "oh I think he was a little pensive...nothing worked for him until 3qtr time"

Me: "I think we play better without Campo to tell you the truth"
SK: "Doesn't like the wing mate...wants to be either in the thick of it or kicking goals"

Me: "So is he too scared of Denis to say something?"
SK: "I'm not touching that one (laugh)"

Me: "Can Jarrad Waite hold down CHF one day do you think?"
SK: "Could play absolutely anywhere at the moment...I guess Freo haven't quite worked out where to play Pavelich....similar sort of player really"

And then I knocked one down the fairway and last I saw of Sticks he was looking for his ball in very thick grass on the 10th after sending what looked like a helicopter of a ball 200m to the left.

Why do they call them ovaltines when they're round, they should call them roundtines ... That's gold Jerry, gold!

Cheers for sharing your convo Dr.S.

I was wondering if Dr S has a special babel-fish-like interpreter which can traslate the subsonic rumblings of Sticks' voice into human speech.....

No..alas no interpreter...but I did listen to quite a bit of Australian Crawl as a kid and if you can understand some of what james Reyne is mumbling on about then that's a good start for Sticks.

Funny KK. I was actually wondering whether foxtel are going to have subtitles for the return to sender show they are playing on Wednesday night. It's with Robert Walls & sticks & I tell you after watching the preview for it subtitles will come in handy!!

So Campo the downhill skier doesn't like being on the wing - somewhere you can get 'cheap free kicks' maybe its because Synbad keeps trashing him :?

Get in the guts Campo stick it to Synbad

:D

Any of you heard Little Blackers talk?

You'd swear he was Sticks' son.

Dr. S thankyou for getting an insight into the thoughts of my childhood (teenage into my 20s actually) hero. The rest of us wish we could have this chance...
