We have all be copping a hiding over the last 6 years so it's time to give it back... Over the coming pre-season lend your comments, or more like clever and witty insults that we give back to our Essendon*, Richmond and Collingwood buddies...

Essendon* for example: I constantly remind a few pals that one of their 'premierships' was never played in a GF, they simply finished on top of the ladder... so it doesn't count.

For the Pies, and there are plenty:
"Tell me again how many times you've lost a GF?"
"Yes, the ball was out".

Continue...

I just keep telling Essendon* supporters "that you've been down with us for past 3 years" are you "ready to climb back up the ladder with us" They don't seem to be happy with this comment .... something about "cheating and tanking" gets thrown in on the way out.

Richmond I don't bother with they are irrelevant and Collingwood well I'm just waiting for the right moment.

It was TWO of their premierships. ;)

Their first premiership, in 1897, was won by topping the ladder at the end of the home and away season. There was no finals series.

In 1924 there was no grand final, just a round robin competition, they "won" their flag on the back of other results and a 20 point LOSS to Richmond.

http://www.fullpointsfooty.net/vfl_part_1.htm

Carlton has won 16 Grand Finals.

But Essendon* have only won 14 Grand Finals.

Essendon* - What happened to that 'new Bomber era' the footy world was raving about after 2000.. You've certainly gone from strength to strength since then :P We've beaten them too many times while we ve been a rabble for Scum fans to have anything over us.

Collingwood: just make a choaking noise... they'll knowwhat you mean :)
If they ark up, just mention Chris Judd rejectingthem.. that'll go down well.

Richmond.. pfft... they havent mattered since 1982.. Ask them if they think Buddy Franklin is a good player

St. Kilda Just walk up to the nearest windown, open it and then close it.. then look back and say 'Sound familiar' :P

Kangaroos: North Melbourne one day, Gold Coast the next :-D

Western Bulldogs: Just sing the 'Oompa Loompa' song from Willy Wonka cos that s what their team is made up of..

West Coast: Too much material to work with to even mention :)

Cant wait for WCE to win a couple of games and get the headline:

"Eagles getting into Gear"

Or, as their next season's tilt fails "Eagles premiership tilt on ice"

As much as I like the 'old arrogance' is back stuff, CFC exists to win games of football and premierships. The arrogance and swagger was based on being the best football club on the field as well. Until we start winning trophies again the rest is a bit meaningless

Agree with both of you.

We bag the shit out of St.Kilda and their supporters, particularly over at SS, for gloating without achieving anything, yet we're prepared to come out all guns blazing next year and become arrogant towards other supporters?

A touch of hypocrisy methinks.

Yep, even with Juddy and improvement in the list we are a work in progress. Its not the time to engage in too much hubris. Having said that it does feel good to see the muscles being flexed again

To use a construction analogy here...

We've got the tools and the parts to make the greatest house ever made, but we've still got to build it.

I heard a good Collingwood joke today.

Apparently the magpies released a bra; plenty of support but no cups.

As an ex high school student at Melb Uni, I noticed some of the elites from the Grammar schools referred to students from Monash Uni as the 2nd preference boys.

Because Collingwood were the second preference could we call them Monash?

No, because Monash was a great Australian, who achieved a lot in his life. Any association with The Filth would tarnish Monash's good name.
