no mention of Johnno
he may not be flash with the skills, but other than Kouta we have no one who can get the ball out of the pack......last qtr he was decisive

WE WON!!!

We shouldn't have either, so the biggest positive is pegging back one of the losses from earlier in the year that we should have won. I think that makes sense!

I haven't watched a replay in full yet, was too hard listening to the radio and watching the 8:30 game last night at the same time.

I'm just bloody rapt we were able to run out the game. Also impressed that in our tight last quarters this year against the Dons and the Hawks, we've had our lead pegged back, but had the tenacity and will power to not let the game go and to go forward with inspiring wins.

We still need to get those bloody skills right though!

Another decision that slipped under the radar - was scheduling Carlton to play on the Orthodox Good Friday knowing that Carlton has a huge Greek supporter base.

Nice one Andrew Demetrispew - as an Australian of Greek Background you knew this and deliberately scheduled the game on Greek Good Friday. POU SOU!!!

Apparently 9 had wanted Colingwood- St K.

Yes barney was terriffic as was waite and t-Bird but like Taff i want to sing the praises of AW. Got some evry tough balls, contasted some others with crawf that saved us. Not big stats but this boy did some terrific work last night.

We won ugly! As Denis said it wasn't pretty but to get a win after the road trip from hell and a short week was a sensational effort.

Teague - ok so he kicks for goal like a backman but we should never take for granted his ability to continually take courageous marks. What an acquisition he has been and can't think of a better role model in defence.

Lappin had a shocking game but kicked the goal (& the handy point) when it counted.

Like London I was really impressed with Johnno. Loved his work in and under and in that last couple of minutes he made some crucial tackles that stuck stopping the ball coming out.

The best Positive is that We have beaten the Subiaco hodoo and we came back from 2 trips to grab a win....That could only mean that we will play better next round.... :)

Agree with all the positives but I will just add two words

BARNABY FRENCH

Nullified the leagues best ruckman after 1/4 time and did plenty around the ground to help keep the Blues in the game. Gave Kouta and Co a real shot at winning the stoppages in the 2nd half.

I really think BF has arrived as one of the most consistant ruckman in the league. More power to you Barny. Well done.

Regards Cazzesman

He's our looseball get specialist  I don't think there is another ruckman in the comp that works as hard as Barney below the knees, he is diving on everything. Great 4 qtr contribution from the big man. He and waite kept us in it(if you can call it that) for the first 3 qtrs especially when most others were missing, this year has made me a definate Barney convert.

Richmond will have a 6 days break, we have 8 days.
No excuses next week.

I'd be interested to know if Teague works on his goalkicking at training. His foot skills are pretty solid, so there's no good reason why he should be missing those fairly straight forward shots.

There's going to be times in the future (as we develop our key position stocks) when there will be no obvious match up for him in defence. I'd like to see a little more of him in the forward line playing the kind of role that Brett Voss has played in recent weeks. With his courage, tackling and especially his marking, you'd think Teague should be able to contribute a goal or 2 a week when he plays in the front half.

Some of the times I attend training, Teaguey is usually the one in the goal square sending it back to the other players who are kicking for goal.

Didn't Teague miss a similar shot a few weeks ago from point blank range?

Essendon* game.
Probably 35-40 metres out.
45 degree angle.

I just want to add to the quiet chorus of praise for Walker. I thought he really came to play last night, and his one percenters and second efforts were outstanding. There was one in the 4th quarter when the ball went forward Hawthorn's way from the centre bounce and it had three hawks around it but Walker came from nowhere and beat all of them to it and held it up. The lightning kick to Whitnall for Bett's third goal was another.

Can someone please teach Bannister how to tackle though. He must have given away 4 or 5 for in the back and over the shoulder.

I think another positive is the fact that perhaps our 2 best skilled players (Lappin and Stevens) had absolute shockers yet we still won

But they contributed in the last Q when the match was there to be won.

Stevens certainly didn't IMO, not really. And Skinny kicked what he did but still was totally ineffective around the ground

 ... where do I start with this.
Should I start with medallion club membership numbers and how many of that crowd figure was NOT there or included into Carlton's $$$$?
Break even point and bottom dollar compared to OO still not good enough?
Merchandising outside/inside and f***ing everwhere NOT going to Carlton or even the surface of this great ground that will destroy our kids before time.

Best leave all that though to the experts though and just enjoy the fact we got ONE Friday night game and the AFL is looking after us in the fixturing and with more FTA exposure.

Why do I bother.
