I just want to add to the quiet chorus of praise for Walker. I thought he really came to play last night, and his one percenters and second efforts were outstanding. There was one in the 4th quarter when the ball went forward Hawthorn's way from the centre bounce and it had three hawks around it but Walker came from nowhere and beat all of them to it and held it up...

He's shown some steady progress this year I reckon. You can almost see him learning the game and improving with each passage of play.

We didnt prostitute ourselves when we got 50,000 against a shithouse side.Yes Surrey it was on free to air Friday night TV .

 ... where do I start with this.
Should I start with medallion club membership numbers and how many of that crowd figure was NOT there or included into Carlton's $$$$?
Break even point and bottom dollar compared to OO still not good enough?
Merchandising outside/inside and f***ing everwhere NOT going to Carlton or even the surface of this great ground that will destroy our kids before time.

Best leave all that though to the experts though and just enjoy the fact we got ONE Friday night game and the AFL is looking after us in the fixturing and with more FTA exposure.

Why do I bother.
Just a few points surrey.
Firstly tell us what the break down is... you sound like you know what youre talking about.
Second.. so youd rather have 24,000 people exposed to watching Carlton each weekend even if we made $1 more...???
#Whats the point even talking sense with you surrey when you dont understand what exposure means to the future???
You really think you have logic under control dont you???

If we dont play infront of big crowds even at a break even but instead polay in front of 1 person each week at a million dollars a game... the club is doomed!!! do you understand that reasoning???

This is where you condition kids to go to the footty for the next 40 years Surrey.. theyre the future of the footy club not me and you.

Should i explain that to you again????

BTW, we did make a bigger profit in that game than we would have at Optus.. after the members get in for free.. say 24,000 we would have say 8, ooo paying customers. the rest would be members...
Well at Telstra we would have say 20,000 members and the rest are paying customers minus medallion but we get the added bonus of a night game on free to air across australia...
Would you get that at Optus????

With all due respect Surrey, I'm really not sure why you do bother on this point. 50,000 to that game was an immense success for the Blues. Exposure to Friday night, to a great ground, to the 20,000 additional people that attend to see us win - its all priceless. Exposure for media, sponsors, fans, corporate clients (read article of mine during the week!), I am just so thankful we've left the craphole that is Optus for TD/MCG.

Tommi ... how did the guy go with the block? Did he only venture to places downhill? Must have been hard pushing it back uphill...

Anyways, positives for mine:
* Houla now getting tagged as a defender, which really shows how important he has become. Nick Ries smacked him in the head at least 4 times and Houla just kept on trying to get the ball. Key player.
* Walker's inside 50 counts and defensive efforts.
* Stevo's last quarter despite a horrible night.
* Brett Johnson's solid all round game and important goal
* The fact that when we come alive we are great to watch
* French, what more can you say, really good effort

and of course Jarrad. BOG. Leaping Legend.

Yep, I thought at times Heath was very good for us and his ball using ability was very welcome.

Oh, I saw this again on a news snippet at some stage yesterday, how good was Wiggo's left footed pass to Whitnall in the last quarter.

 :D :D :D

GO WIGGINS!!!

Good to be here. My thoughts, without reading through the whole thread:

Waite was fantastic.
French worked really hard once again and did a great job. What a workhorse! ( I wonder how he can keep it up for the remainder of the season)
I liked Kouta's game - very hard working
Stevo stuck at it although his errors at times were uncharacteristic.
Skinny had a dirty night but, thankfully, stepped up when it counted.
Eddie Betts - magic!

An ugly, ground out win on the back of a difficult and tiring road trip. :) :) :)

One more time for those that refuse to listen.

I NEVER advicated to continue to play ALL our HOME games at OO.
We needed to move the majority of our games but the interestate matches should have stayed at OO and we should have moved to the MCG. That's my thoughts but the majority or minority  thought otherswise.

I know some REFUSE to understand or accept my logic.
