I think Fev was lucky to only get two weeks after he was found guilty
They said that because of his bad record the points gets increased by 20% Is there a chance that he would only have gotten 1 week if not for his bad record???

We must appeal!!!! Although everyone sees Haws & Tigers as the weakest side, iam sure these 2 teams are looking at us the same way at the moment....

Hopefully Pagan instils an us versus them mentality into the players after all the screwing the AFL has done to us...

I see it as an oppotunity for a younger player to make his mark and for Fev to re-assess where he is at.

He won't be running around anywhere after Sunday(er Monday here) :)

I'm not suprised at the decision because they've been doing it to us for years. Remember Dean tapped Brainless with his foot and he got 4 weeks for kicking. Deisels 9 weeks for pushing an umpire who was in his face after the game had finished.

Fev was very lucky to get 2 weeks given the findings:

Fevola suspended for two matches

Quote:
But they imposed only a two match ban - the same as Fevola's teammate Heath Scotland received for the same offence a fortnight ago - despite the fact the charge was rated as a level three offence by the match review panel and despite the fact they found Fevola's actions to be intentional rather than reckless.

Here is an opportunity for all. Fev can freshen up, get his head right and think about whether he wants to play football, and the rest of the team can learn to play football without him. Maybe we've become too fev centric. This might be a blessing in disguise - bloody good disguise though.

If Fev was wearing a black and red jumper, and sporting an AFL-approved finger guard, he would have been given a free kick instead... FWIW, I think Fev got sucked in and did something stupid, but still, one has to ask whether this new tribunal system is actually any different to the old one.

Compare the Golden Tampon's reprimanded charge to Charman's - yes one was worse, but two weeks worse? - give me a break.

Compare Mongo, mouth open, diving help me umpires I'm weak, I punch people when they're not looking, grass thrower's elbows to the doyle incident...

It's the same system as last year, dressed up in sheep's clothing people.

Utter crap!
This tribunal system is consistent..... Consistently shit. It seems as if everyone is guilty till proven innocent.

I feel like giving up. Just when we get back to the dome with two very winnable games we get our head kicked in like this. It seems as if this season is going to be very frustrating!!

the williams decision was sooo wrong

i'll take the fevola sentence - appealing it may end up with more weeks I reckon - it looked shocking on tv!

Sportsbet: 781/1 odds of Carlton winning a tribunal hearing.
Sportsbet: 953/1 odds of Demitrispew realising he is a fat prick.

To be honest I'm not surprised, nor outraged. My take on it is Fev took two goes to get Grover's face. The first attempt with his left hand didn't work, so he tried with his right and got what he wanted. I believe he knew what he was doing and am still very disappointed to have the club involved in another eye gouging incident.

No real suprise. Lets hope he responds and plays well when he omes back, not like he did following the suspension last year.

A very lucky boy.

Not because I think he didn't have a defence, I think a tight headlock is more than slightly uncomfortable and in a pub brawl you'd do what you could, but this is the AFL.

I had him marked down for 4 from the minute it happened.

So in my opinion, he's a lucky boy. I hear Nathan Brown gave character evidence though so it probably reduced the penalty.

Fevola and Carlton argued that there was minimal contact to Grover's face and what there was was to the left side of the face. The tribunal chairman, retired judge John Hassett, instructed the panel that the question of when it happened was irrelevant.

Disgusting. Corrupt.

To be honest, if we all think about the game, was this not when Fev started losing it? Started playing the undisciplined crap that lost us the whole game? The shit that we used to expect of him? If so, Denis should give him 2 anyway... No he isn't going to win a brownlow, because he is an undisciplined player... he will be disciplined soon, but not yet...

Fev, you cost us, and I will not defend your actions. Take responsibility! Your lack of discipline was a deciding factor in us losing the game against the shockers...

People he is Carlton, but he did the wrong thing... we will thump the Hawks with him or without...but do not defend him just because he is a Blue... I love the Blues as much if not more than the next man, but there is a time when a man needs to take responsibility for gouging a man's eye...

I'm with you Camel and BH. Very lucky we are I reckon.

IMO Fevs was worse than Scotlands, probably deserved three or four weeks.

Agreed.

I had the incident on tape and the left side of the face argument was not a strong one. I freeze frame you could see that he could easily have reached the right cheek of grover.

Does this mean if they had plead guilty, he would have only got one week?

Should they appeal and plead guilty?

While I think he was lucky since when has The Age turned in to the Hun - the headline about the "facial attack" is a bit out there.
