The Prez, Danielle and I spoke about this on Monday at the pub with a few Ess and Coll fans, and by the end of it they saw things our way and was saying yeah he could be chance.
I also used the same tatics at work tonight and had most ppl also changing there mind. Hopefully it will work for him.

I'm just wondering why it is that unnecessary high contact to the neck in the form of throttling someone isn't regarded as misconduct, but poking someone in the face is.

At worst, eyegouging might cause severe eye trauma, most likely repairable through surgery.

At worst, choking someone could result in a corpse on the field.

In legal terms it's kind of like assault versus attempted murder

Just wondering why the guy doing the poking seems to get ranked up there with the anus fiddlers and scrotum biters of the world.....

and dont forget that he came from 10m away to get involved with the argie bargie that fev and walker (? i think it was him) where having and attacked him from behind.

It really is appauling that Gover appears to be getting off free for all of this.

You know when you come to think of it our AFL Umpires, Officials and Judiciary are no more intelligent than Vince McMahon's troupe of "black & white striped" officials in the WWE.

Its always the good guy who cops it with the "Steel (okay lightweight aluminium  ) chair whilst the referee is distracted by the cheating opponent's sidekick and then cops the 3 count.

In this case the guys in the Black Hats always seem to be wearing Red & Black Jumpers - why is that Ron Evans?

Obviously the team has to be retrained using Ghandi's passive resistance. If someone is choking you lie back and wait for the umpires to do something. If you are lucky you will not lose too much oxygen to the brain.

yep, its a ridiculous system where the attacker gets the rewards but the responder always gets penalised.

just the AFL being stupid really.

it just plain stupid that someone can give you a clip around the ears and if you dare retaliate you get a free kick award against you  i would like to blame dimwitrew but its been the case for along time

C'mon Camel, you know the headlock (choke around the neck) was applied first in this instance.

If this is the best defence we can come up with - then Sayonara Fev for about 3 weeks I reckon. :(

Don't like Fev's chances but interesting...

"Essendon*'s Mark Johnson escaped a report for charging after the match review panel decided his shoulder bump to Magpie Rhyce Shaw's head was neither unnecessary nor unreasonable."

mmm

Mentioned this on another thread, but is probably more relevant here... it's almost like someone high up in the AFL is making sure Essendon*'s record remains "Spotless"
