I figure we've already had two sacrifical goats in the last forntight (Whitnall and Fev), now who could EB mean with this one?

Sticks is the one I would least expect, but I don't see how they make a sacrifical goat of a bloke who is on the Board and is so popular with the rank and file members.

My only other sacrifical possibility is Setanta - he's already Pagan's sacrifical ruck, sacrifical CHF, sacrifical FF, and sacrifical FB.

think laterally

Mr. Stephen Silvagni will be the next coach of Carlton.

He has unfinished business with us.

He has been an assistant at Pies, Dogs and Saints.

Time to come home.

Pratt loves him, his mates, Kernahan, Bradley and Ratten need him.

Also get Dean to be runners and coach the team from the field.

All great leadership at Carlton comes from the backline. Refer Lofts & Collins.

Silvagni is our man. Period.

Do you mean Sticks?

Let's face it. One of the greatest players to play for Carlton but as a board member and part of the match committee, he can't organize a root in a brothel

Caroline Wilson on Footy Classified virtually said it will be Voss with maybe Guy Mckenna as the other candidate....

I'm disappointed that Chris Bond's name isn't mentioned in more dispatches; My hope is that we'll conduct a thorough screening and interview process, and invite blokes like Bond to apply, as I'm sure he'd interview well.

He impresses me immensely, and is every bit a learned student of the game. All that he lacks is profile and a celebrated playing career, but those things should not be first and foremost when choosing a coach, in my opinion, and are merely nice bonuses to have in addition to the skills required for the position.

It could also be said that men of Bond's ilk also lack the sheer 'respect' factor of a Voss, but there are many ways to lead men, and whatever the style, our next coach needs to be chosen on the basis of coaching abilities and other skills that they bring to the position - playing history is just that, and a moot point as far as I'm concerned. It shouldn't be a major selling point for a Voss, nor should it be a handicap to the Chris Bonds of the coaching world.

Indeed Bond would be another very good choice. Similar to the Clarkson mode. Well respected among his peers, great coaching record, just lacks the profile of big-star status of guys like Voss. I wouldn't complain if Bond got the job, and I'm sure he will be considered for it. But my favourite would still be McKenna.

According to Garry Lyon  , he agrees that Bond would be a good fit for Carlton.

So following the lateral pattern then, Denis to the Bullants or Blues Twos and Voss for the senior gig. :-D

Off course he would suggest Bond, then that would leave Voss for his beloved Demons.

With repsect to Caroline Wilson, if we could all throw some coin into a pool fund to get her an accomodating bloke, it may make watching footy classified somewhat enjoyable. Lord knows she needs it

You might want to collect a bit extra for the 3 or 4 slabs required to adequately focus the beer goggles for the annointed suitor, then again in another thread somebody said she was 'pumping up' Chris Bond last night on footy confidential!!......as the actress said to the bishop!!!!

Am I taking things out of context?? I'd better get a job in the media ASAP!!
