hey guys,

it appears that some interstaters get shafted for TV coverage this weekend.

From what i can gather we are NOT on FTA and the fox telecast of the Swans V Freo game will be televised from 1pm to 4pm in place of our game on seven. even though this game (swans v freo) is live nation wide of fox one.

so i'm trying to figure out were that leaves us interstate blues supporters.
this appears to affect QLD and NSW/ACT viewers from what i can gather.

i'm assuming the game is not live in melbourne - but what will all the other states get? surely CH 7 will be showing our game live somewhere as they have the rights.
just checked and Melborune get it at 3 pm delay as do adelaide. brisbane get the same as us NSW ACT.

CH 7 Darwin appear to get it live however (1.30 pm there time = 2 pm our time)

7 show a replay of our game at 11.30 pm!!!! IN NSW/ACT

i think we get screwed this weekend for live coverage completley? unless fox has two live games on at once? fox's website and yourtv.com seems to indicate that we miss out completley.

god this is bullshite!
does anyone know if there is anyway we could somehow get a feed (satellite perhaps) of the darwin CH7 feed so we still get the game live?

unprecedented coverage my arse!
Carlton should give the AFL a rocket for allowing this to happen - how can a game be live on both FOX and FTA at the same time while another game gets squat!

NOTE TO THE AFL - not everyone in the NSW/ACT/QLD FOLLOW THE @#$%&! SYDNEY @#$%&! SWANS!!!!!!!

screw the AFL and they we they treat interstate supporters.
not good enough!

Sorry Dane,

but there are three black-out games (not sure which ones the others are) for NSW and Qld this year, and this is one of them. The best we will get is a replay of the match following the completion of the 4pm Sunday game. So we definitely miss out.

I can't explain why this is the case... it just is

In the 9/10/Fox deal there was always one Sunday game that didn't get aired live into the ACT, and other states presumably. I thought this loophole had been fixed with the 7/10/Fox deal, but sadly not. The replay should be on immediately after the Sunday twilight game on Fox Sports 1.

You're welcome to come and yell at the umpires with me if you like.

Brisbane telecast midnight.

Will set the video on my return from Alice Cooper.

Hopefully won't be another Welcome To My Nightmare performance, like last week. :-D

gez, the delayed coverage, sorry "near live" coverage, is on FS1 from 8-10:30pm on Sunday, after the live broadcast of the Richmond v Kangaroos game.

To be honest, we've done well to make it to R14 before we've been caught out like this. From memory we have a big run of Saturday afternoon games to finish the season, so with any luck this will be the only game that is put back so late.

It used to happen once every 3 or 4 weeks a couple of years ago. :x

Check it out here

http://afl.com.au/Portals/0/afl_docs/2007_Round_14_TV_Schedule.pdf

The problem in Brisbane is that the Courier Mail puts tv times against the games during the week, and they are quite often incorrect. They had Carlton v Melbourne as being live on channel seven on Tuesday and Wednesday when, as has been the case all year, the Sydney Foxtel game will be shown on channel 7 from 1.00pm. Lucky that I'll be in Canberra this weekend and will be able to watch the replay at 8.00pm. Rock on!

i just think its a @#$%&! absurd situation when a game will be live on fox and free to air at the same time while other games miss out. i guess i'm doublely pissed as i miss the last three games as i'll be out of the country, plus i missed last weeks game while i was away.

Missing last week's game wasn't all bad! I made a special effort to find a pub with FS1 and then proceeded to get more depressed as the afternoon dragged on.

Come and live in Adelaide.

You get to see Port or the other mob every second week on FTA and pay at the same time while perfectly useful football teams are running around in other parts of Australia but we sadly miss out on seeing them.

Clearly this TV deal is warped.

This is from the AFL site. Go to the Season 2007 menu, you should be able to access it from there. It also has radio and regional guides. For those holding their breath, you may like to note that Fox Sports Plus aka Main Event is included for Friday nights in NSW/ACT and Qld and NSW/ACT on Saturday night. There is certainly no Fox Sports Plus in Qld on Sunday's, but happy for some one to inform that it is a goer in NSW/ACT on Sundays. It defies logic that those living close to Brisbane and Sydney on Saturday nights and Sundays have the option of either a) attending the game live, b) watching on Ten or Seven, or c) watching on Fox Sports 1. Its all well and good to say Sydney are the highest rating team on television, but really, is it any wonder?

TV coverage this week - Interstaters SHAFTED!

NO!

Really?

Bloody AFL. They push the Swans up here, not AFL. Similar to the Lions up in Canadia. Bloody shits me.

And I love how "near-live" is defined as "up to 12 hours after the event".

Right, because THAT'S @#$%&! useful.

The sooner Channels 7/10/Fox figure out what is in the PUBLIC'S, not THEIR best interest, they will realise that the PUBLIC should be THEIR first interest - high ratings thanks to better coverage. It's NOT THAT DIFFICULT!

I watched last week's game too, but I still managed to find other things to do after a while.

I could burn it to DVD for you if you're really sick in the head.
