Just on SEN - Evans to retire and Fitzpatrick the new chairman. Good news for us - at least the AFL will now not have two different measures - one for Carlton and one for the rest of the AFL.....

I wouldn't trust anyone on the AFL commission no matter where they came from. Collins was supposed to be a Carlton man and he did us no favours.

Do you think the AFL Commish has a sneaky leaker? 8)

No wonder Fitzy never wanted the Presidency of Carlton.

On the contrary, if Fitzy were in charge, well...

WHilst it's great news that Fitzy has the job, I think Ron should be shown some respect - the guy has cancer, and you don't wish that upon anyone.

Here's hoping he recovers, and Fitzy looks after us.

Does this mean Fitzy has to come up with some way of ripping off the footy public for personal gain. :?

The stars are aligning in our favour.

Now Fitzy.

Then how about this from Smith in the Australian?

" With Evans in the chair, no understudy has had a finer, fairer leader to follow."

Quite a ringing endorsement from the great man.

I will not go to your depths 'winnie' - whilst he was partly responsibile for our penalties years ago, and overseen the demise of Princes Park cause of TD, that was in the past and it's time to move on - let go of the past, and move forward.

We're talking about a human life here from a guy suffering cancer - forget the past - watch our club resurect is what you should look forward to.

Cancer is a terrible disease. Ron Evans deserves our best wishes on a full recovery.

I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone.. it's an evil disease. So I hope Evans fully recovers to live a long life.

Then gets some sort of weird anal fungus that causes extreme itching for at least a decade.

I sincerely hope Evans gets over his cancer. As other posters have said, it is a horrible condition to have to suffer and not something I would wish on anyone.

And besides, I want him to be around for another 10 years at least, so he can see Carlton's next three premierships
