Draw against the reigning premiers on their dung heap isn't so bad. Still heartbreaking to get so close and not get over the line.

Yep. :?

Regardless of the post match rationalisation we've created enough chances in every game this year to win comfortably and simply MUST get better and converting in front of goal.

Highlight of the game for mine. That jerkoff deserves it.

Damn right. You have to love this football team. The word quit is not in their vocabulary. Have faith people, it will be repaid with interest. Great to see some of the scapegoats give it some tonight too

ie Carrots and Wiggins

four games, we have been in front after half time in each one

three 100+ point games in a row, first time since 2000

Well done boys...we should have won, thats disappointing, but they worked so hard and to get a draw out of a game away against the defending premiers is a great effort.

The free kick at the end is SHIT SHIT SHIT, we're the nominal winners here.

I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE PLAYERS...great inclusions, Bowyer, and T-Lo were a great contribution..GO BLUES!!!!

Excellent game from Wiggins.
Excellent game from Johnno.
Excellent game from Bananaby.

A good result seeing that we really had no proper matchup for Tredrea. Whitnall did a decent job curbing his influence. Before people say "Yeah, but he kicked 20 behinds", prior to the last season or two that was Tredrea's forte, missing sitters.

It really is a bonus and the boys know that they can match it with the physically strongest side in the competition. Hopefully Williams gives credit where it is due and eats some humble pie! The positive is that it now takes percentage out of the equation which last year was our achilles heal.

Port's HB line and our midfield kept cancelling each other out, we just could not get the ball inside 50 when it mattered. We had them on toast in the first half of the last quarter, we were winning the clearances and the contested balls, but then Port to their credit were able to wrest control of the game back to the point that they really looked the most likely winners. Thankfully we showed plenty of courage too and were able to get some score on the board.

I'll keep coming back to it, that wasted goal when Fev tried to pass it to Waite was really the turning point. I'm disappointed that Fev didn't take hise set shot, but it was unselfsih play and he was trying to put the ball to the team's advantage. But again, it was our poor foot skill execution inside 50 that hurt us on that occassion and that was indicative of the whole game really. We're getting better, but as I said, we just cannot waste so many chances in front of goal week after week.

I am happy with the draw. Port really had the upper hand in the last 10 minutes and missed a fair few shots.

HOWEVER - this just goes to show what happens when there is a bit of pressure on down back.

I thought our band-aid backline held together incredibly well after half time. Well done Whits, Teaguey, Karl, Stevo, Carazz and bloody Sporny who made some incredibly courageous saves and kicked a top class goal after having his noggin wrenched.

Two poor decisions by Fev in the last quarter probably undid us, but it was a much better performance by him, helped greatly by some brilliant footpassing by Ryan Houlihan.

See my French rave for my big wrap of the day (I am sure Darknavy has Wiggins covered!!)

If the boys play with the same hussle, desperation and commitment for the rest of the year we are a big show for the finals.
