3AW rumour file this morning - Pies offered Fev double what he is currently getting at the Blues.

I hope we sort out Fev's contract sooner rather than later. Let's not drag this contract out in front of the media ala Nathan Brown just to pump up his price.

Get it over quickly and let him concentrate on kicking goals!

His manager apparently claimed on SEN that the Crows were frontrunners in negotiations.
Do the Pies need another key forward ATM? Would Tarrant, Rocca and Fevola in the same forward line work.

Wasn't that comment in relation to a few years ago, that Adelaide almost nabbed him before Pagan took over? Or is this a new claim? The way that was phrased, if a new claim, is quite a concern -almost Allison like in its approach. Its not a bidding war is it?

This stuff was posted in the AFL section Monday I think. The guy behind me at the game Saturday reckons Fev and Eddie have been out having dinner a lot lately.

People who call radio stations with these rumors really need to look at themselves.

now, straight of the bat, i love the guy, reckon he is great

however

considering his impact the last few weeks, and our ability to still score a fair amount of goals, if the right deal comes along or he holds our club to ransom i say "its time to go" fevola.

I would prefer to keep him, reckon he is a real talent, but i would not want to see us pay more for him than he is worth becuase other parties are interested.

Mind you the deal would have to be pretty good

Leaving Carlton for Collingwood would be like shutting the door on Jessica Alba to have sex with your great grandma's bones.

Won't happen

At the moment Fev is the type of player that would be suited to a performance type contract imo.
An average base salary with very lucrative perfomance bonuses.

I think he really likes being at Carlton and I'd be stunned if he left.

If, and that's a big if, he were to go somewhere else I'd want a first and a second rounder for him.

Could be worse I guess, could be "Lance chasing Pies".

If Ottens was worth 2 first rounders surely Fev would be worth at least that.
Having said that he will be going nowhere he loves Carlton and Pagan[/quote]

Most players can earn more money by switching clubs (Hamill  )! Where would Fev be if Pagan hadn't shown some faith in him and given him another chance when Brittain had wanted to sack him? It's up to him to repay that faith.

Ottens worth two first rounders! Man that guy is wasting his talent. What was Thompson thinking.

I reckon Fev will stay. I don't think we'll get into a stupidly priced bidding war for him though, those days are long gone ... I hope.

Damn straight!

If Fev is to go (which he ain't and i don't want him too!) he is easily worth 2 first rounders. Or an established player and a first rounder. Otherwise it just ain't worth it.

EG. Justin Longmuier and a first round. Otherwise.....................%*&@ OFF!

I was a pretty much lone voice on that one, but I guess hindsight means that everyone thinks they always believed this

I'm sure Eddie has lunch with all the channel 9 players every now and then. I've heard that he and fev have been catching up a bit - i guess now it is in the context of Fev negotiating a new contract. We should free up more cash at the end of this year with new contracts for Campo and Red.

Given that there are not many genuine forwards around I think he needs to get around $400K??

I'd let him go for the right price!

That being J.Brown, J.Longmuir, Judd and two first round picks.
