Very disappointed with todays result. Which beckons me to ask, do we have any fear factor ? What i mean by this, is , we lack a Mongrel, a player who when he presents himself, opposition players shake in there boots.

I'm talking about a player who has some Attitude and Arrogance about themselves, someone who believes he can grab the game by the scruff and make other teams think... Oh Shit, scare blokes with his presence something like Brown from the Lions does, Something Lynch from the Weagles is developing, something Plugger specialised in.

We like to talk up Setana, his strength, his attitude and his application. Can he be our Fear Factor or do we as a club need to recruit someone with this quality.

IMO most great sides possess this type of player, what i struggle to find on our list is this type of player.

Do we have one hidden away ? Who is he ? Where do we find one, where do we get one, and do we need one.

I say we need one. Could this be the final piece in Pagans assembly of a great team at Carlton.

Your views please !

Yep, know where you're coming from. Teague is as tough as they get, but I get the feeling he's too much of a gentleman. I can't really think of anyone that could be considered our "General" for waving the flag.

There is one player that might have the potential to create the fear factor thing, but hes still learning the game. Setanta in the future might has this quality, but no one to put on the park like that right now.

Posters talking about the bullants said that although he wasnt among the best players, Setanta exploded last weekand kicked a couple of goals.

If we had that type of inspiring thing happen today after the pies hit the front, it might have been enough to inspire others to contribute more than they did and win us the game.

The steel and resolve that we showed when challenged in wizzer gf by the eagles seems to have gone. The only person I thought that these qualities were remotely there today was Nick Stevens, but although an excellent 4 qtr player, he isnt the mongel type.

I theink that Norman, IF he can get his head right, COULD be the intimidator we need. But you're right - we have no-one who can say "Stuff you guys, I'm playing now."

I agree, Norman could be that sort of player.

But his mental attitude is not right at all.

I didnt he was the worst offendor today though, which means that his mental state on gameday cant be totally bad.

Karl isnt an enforcer...they have it from day 1......Brereton, Dipper, Jonothan Brown, Barry Hall..Wayne Carey... the take no crap from anyone approach.
Watched it tonight with the Swans...Hall makes the Swans walk taller, even Brisbane dont mess with him...ditto with J Brown..him missing makes them more vunerable..Aker is copping it big time, normally Brown would be clearing up any loose snipers but Aker is having to do his own dirty work and it was entertaining to watch.
Sentanta is promising but the difference is that Hall, Brown, Tredrae can all play at the elite level there not just mugs with muscle.
You need an enforcer who is also nearly your best player and also plays in a key position IMHO...

If you are talking about blokes with a bit of mongrel about them,i reckon there is one running around in the dogs magoos.Adam Morgan. No super star, but pretty good all the same.Like the fact that this guy will not take a backward step.Definatly worth some thought if he remains in the magoos.
