Here we go: Paraphrased

What's happened?

Was DP out?

No - club been through process like every club, and review it, look at all aspects to improve it. Short term pain for long term success.

New pain would come, know that we have good list ( ), club is going in good direction.

Are all reports stating Mitchell made presentation wrong?

I am not going into board room discussions.

In this these circumstances you talk too a lot of people. The club considered a wide range of feedback.

Reported Dennis lost your support?

That s false, completely innacurate. Relationship every day been strong and consider him very good friend.

GS didn't support DP until yesterday, so we all believe up until last night it could have gone either way?

If you read all info in papers you would go batty. Don't commit too anything until reveiw is completed.

Did he get bad advice from his advisors?

No he didn't. Another furfy. He has always been a strong supporter of DP, and doesn't sit on the fence. We had too review all options.

We looked at everything subjectively and objectively, form a financial perspective / legal perspective etc.

It is reported that you had words with SOS at the rising star yesterday?

No, we are good mates, can't belive it. Everything was tense yestersday.

I listened to the interview, and almost ran off the road when I heard him say that Denis' position was never in doubt.

Hope you are ok then :-D

Listening too that interview you would think that too much fuss was made, that the board were in full control of everything and that this was a normal review done by all clubs at seasons end.

I bet what happened at Carlton won't happen at any other clubthis year.

Even Geelong wil be succinct and professional in there review.

Well - believe what you will - but the media blew this WAY OUT of proportion and the club didn't know how to hose down the media. Istated this last week...

Now - here's my two cents...
The review process; and the boards' recommendation - I believe - will target Elshaug. He's gone, but Pagan stays - to be assessed during 2007. That leaves DP with a decision...accept the change/s to his coaching staff and therefore the amended contract (a condition written in as part of his contract is that he can have 1 assistant of his choosing) - or leave with a payout, provided that the club has the funds from the so-called 'group' written in concrete. A second review to be done - this time from respected Carlton people outside the inner sanctum (Fitzpatrick / Maclure / Walls / Glascott / etc) to recruit the 2007 coaching staff. Libba / TD to reapply for their jobs...Dempsey retained as ruck coach. Mitchell by no means guarenteed of the top job...he has to demonstrate why he is the best person for the job.

...so wasn't too far off the mark at all.

Good guy but hardly filled me with confidence.
Now that Pagan has survived .. the board will be looking for a different scalp.

Doubt he will make survive.

I don't care whether another 10 people go.

As long as we get it right, remain professional and show some stability straight after.

Lets hope things improve, although some predict this is the start of a few weeks of changes.

The biggest dissappointment this year has been reading the posts of all the self appointed authorities on this forum.
The second biggest dissappointment is the sheep like followers who provide the positive reinforcement to these posters.

Maloufs version is probably pretty spot on because it makes sense. The media versions of things don't. They were so desperate for blood that commonsense and reason were forgotten and imagination took hold.

It was always Elshaugh that would go. The club hinted at that months ago. The review was always going to take place but the feeding frenzy that erupted around it is beyond belief.
Does anyone really believe Mitchell was ever going to be coach just like that. Just come in and present your case and if we like it your in. Get real. So what was his presentation about? Was it about justifying himself as Bullants coach seeing as everyone is being reviewed? More likely.

One has to wonder who starts all this stuff. These so called credible sources that those so called journalists hide behind.
My point really is simple. If you think these continual allegations and innuendos about the CFC through they just don't make sense.
So who is behind it eh?

And then to top it off we get these verbal stoushes on this site about things that could never be true.

So let me get this straight. Barnesy wrote this post this morning, presumably shortly after SEN spoke with Malouf … and yet the SOS appointment was neither confirmed or denied?!

WTF is going on here.
