Not really. His view was mainly that it is a tough gig coaching an AFL side, and you need to know exactly what you're doing- you either know how to handle things or you don't. He feels Ratts cannot cope with the current demands and thus, needs a bit of extra training. I found his last comment, that his previous coaching roles wouldn't really hold him in good stead for what he is doing now, may ring a little true. Ratten was senior coach at Norwood footy club in the Eastern Football League, and then an assistant at Melbourne from my understanding. THink it was the other way around. Melbourne, Norwood and then assisant at Carlton. A little unsure of the order it was, although he was definitely at Norwood in the 2006 season. Coached them to a Grand Final against Scoresby, but they lost.
