Just got home. Interesting listening to some very heated conversations on the train. And they were Carlton people!

The MM/Ratten debate is everywhere.
Seriously, probably the most enjoyable game I have been to since last years finals.
Was very confident before the game but didn't expect that. IMO it was the best line up we have put on the park all year. Better balanced and we now have some body size around the park. Bell, McLean (WOW), Duigan, Touhy make a HUGE difference.
Judd was awesome. With him in it releases others. Murphy enjoyed space as did Gibbs. Two weeks in row I would of had Gibbs in our best 3. Carrots was Carrots.
The dominance of our midfield got the ball in to a very mobile forward line. Give Waite, Walker, Betts and Garlett space and will cut anyone up. Liked the way our mids ran through the forward line.
The inclusion of Casboult has made us better for many reasons. He is a strong body who creates a contest, he straightens us up and showed that playing a ruckman as a key forward does NOT work. He also has a lot of improvement in him.
Kids, every side should have kids. The enthusiasm, point of difference they bring to a side is huge. This will also push Lucas, Mitchell, McCarthy, Buckley, Dale, ROK etc to want to be a part.
I liked the way our defence worked together. White is a natural FB. IMO he and Jamo fight for the one spot. Cant play both. McInnes was good again. His work off the ball in terms of body work, shepherding, getting goal side etc is top class. The assistance of Duigan, Touhy & Scotland cannot be underestimated. They all worked well as a defensive team.
Essendon* after about 15 minutes were gone. Something is not right there. I have watched them over the past couple of months and they are very poor. Take Watson out and they have NO midfield.
Anyway, just an enjoyable day. These days I actually enjoy beating Essendon* than Collingwood. Who'd of thought!
