banno has done well when given a challenging task (ie Buckley and Hird from memory) ...whoever he plays on, i feel he will do the job

The matchups tonight will be extremely interesting.

The fact that we have brought Banno in makes it all the more interesting, suggests that Ratten has a specific role for him.

I would play Jamo on Riewoldt. He did very well on him in the second half of last years game after Riewoldt murdered Waite early. Thornton is the obvious choice for Kosi, but if he doesnt play it will have to be Bower.

In the midfield I would like to see AJ take Montagna. He sets up so much for them but AJs pace and endurance makes him the perfect option.

Carrots onto NDS
Gibbs head to head with Hayes
Banno on Goddard

Flower i hope we smash these pricks

I visualised it...edited it,made a movie,and a mini series.
It was a big fat hit.
The day we beat the Saints.
Singin' we are the old dark navy blues.
See ya at the ground.
GO BLUEBOYS!!!!!

Hell yeah! I think we've grown an extra leg with beating Brisbane at home when they had 7 weeks to lie in wait and try to smash us.....

Unless we play Kreuzer at CHF. Do it Ratts.

Any word on Thornts?

Surely we'll hear soon if he's out. That would be a huge blow. Probably our most in form defender.

Yes but it took me about 180 seconds to stop looking at your Megan Fox avatar and remember the question.

Not only have I contemplated it, I've put $250 of my hard-earned on the Blues to collect $800.

GO BLUES!

Formguide: http://www.prowess.com.au/pro-stats/formguide.pdf

The key indicators:

Carlton are fast starters, Saints slow.
St Kilda are fast finishes, Blues slow.
The Saints punish turnovers better than most teams.
The Blues score 35% of goals from stoppages.
Our key midfielders may lay plenty of tackles, but they don't stick.

On paper it's simple, shut down the run of Dal Santo, Hayes, Montagna, Ray and Gram, then make accountable Goddard and Fisher. I'd be matching up with Houligan/Goddard, Gibbs/Hayes, Bannister/Dal Santo, Stevens/Ray and Armfield/Gram, Simmo/Montagna in a man/man contest around the ground.

In our defence I'd like to see AJ/Milne, Browne/Schneider, Jamo/Kozi and Bower/Reiwoldt with Austin the third man up to support. If our midfield role players do the job then I feel we can restrict the Saints to under 100pts, problem then is how do we kick the 16 goals to win the game?

Fev needs to realise his mates don't play for St Kilda but the Blues tonight. It's all setup for the Fev show, only problem is against the Saints it's generally the bad Fev show. If he can hold the fort within 30 I can see many chances coming for Betts/Garlett/Murphy and Judd, this is where we can win the game, mutiple goal scorers and forcing Goddard/Fisher to defend not create.

I'm really hoping for a peformance from our boys tonight, even if we don't win, we come away from the game with respect in the community. I can see us coming out strong and getting a lead at some stage during the night around 5 goals, that's when we will know how far we have come if we can hold the Saints charge off and come away with the win.

Saints by 43pts though unfortunately.

The only way that will happen is if Ratts coaches the Saints tonight. :yikes:
They'll put Young or Baker on him.
Maybe Ratts brought in Banno to flatten Judd's tag. :fight:

Well good luck Aussie. Didn't deserve to be dropped in the first place and was really showing signs.
This is a chance to stamp yourself on the game and cement your spot.

Go Blues

you are right...

Judd v Hayes/Baker

Maybe Banno will run through the middle to block the tag?

Murph and the Gibb must fire
