This is actually an opportunity. We can monetise this. Make a TV reality show - kind of like The Recruit except not shit and for coaches. Whoever wins the show gets the job.

Challenge One - As a newly appointed coach of an AFL club should you knuckle down, get involved during trade week and really look through what is on the list and set up the next few years. Or be available on the phone if needed while doing a book tour?

Challenge Two - 50 goal a year small forwards, necessary in the modern game or not?

Challenge Three - Winning influence. As a head coach there are going to be some choppy weeks when things just aren't going to plan. Do you work with the media in an honest and forthright manner, explaining your vision and process for achieving it. Or act like an eccentric cauliflower and stonewall because 'they've never played the game'.

Challenge Four - When given the choice between paying slightly over the odds to keep a beloved club champion or paying well over the odds to 'recruit' a mate from your old team which is the best way forward?

Now cook a @#$%&! creme brulee, flower..

Good one.
Challenge 5: Have an affair with the full forward's missus, get rid of said FF, snort some more coke, and hope that the awesome environment created by brilliant president, CEO, footy manager, and recruitment manager, still allows you to be called a dual premiership coach. Hehe. We know who'll win that one!!

Do you get bonus points if you are involved in a really shady land deal that pockets you tens of millions on the side?

I'm liking the idea of conducting the process as a reality show in conjunction with Foxtel. 16 hopefuls, each taking charge of the squad for one week, but there can be only one winner.

So who do you want on the selection panel?
And who DONT you want on the selection panel?

Yes:
- Dunstall - no nonsense, knowledgeable
- Parkin - Carlton voice - knows how to succeed within the princes park bubble
- Somebody close to the realities of the modern game - maybe a recent director of coaching or footy manager who doesnt have an agenda ?
- Someone from another code with a great track record

NO !:
- King
- Lloyd
- Wallace
- Matthews

I'd like an ex-player, recently retired out of the game. Retired for only a year or two maybe or so. Someone from Hawthorn or Geelong. Who have come from a successful culture and environment.

Craig Bellamy or Ange Postecoglou would be someone from another code i'd look at.

Dunstall and/or Brereton would be good. Bereton is a wanker of the highest order but understands the modern game. I wouldn't mind a recently retired player from a successful team, eg Jude Bolton.

Could we just get Judd to Captain-Coach for the rest of the season? What's the worst that could happen?

He'll be injured and will have to coach the grand final from the sidelines.

Mick Malthouse has been summoned from match committee meeting to the boss's office ...

Well if he's the one who's been picking Jones and Ellard ahead of Graham and Buckley, we're in for a treat on Thursday.
