Oh well, good luck at home Shields.
Now lets ditch the Irish experiment and draft local kids.
Can you define local? Not born in Carlton, Victoria, traditional AFL states, Australia? What about those who cam to Australia when young, how young?
Not really that simple is it?
:you are funny:...
I have nothing more to say - start making sense sinbagger, you come across as a buffoon that has nothing to add apart from bagging other posters...
..so you feel the need to respond by bagging my posts, I guess you are as much a comedian as I
OK, let me explain. I think the idea of ditching the 'Irish Experiment' is very simplistic. And yes my response was short and flippant but then so was the original post.
Firstly there is no 'Irish Experiment' as such, some clubs for various reasons (not just us) are trying to think outside the square and try untapped sources. Is there that much different between drafting a guy who only played basketball or rugby until late teens and drafting a guy who only played hurling or gaelic football until their late teens? I would think the risks would be roughly similar.
Of course coming from another country raises the bar but what about guys like Naitanui, Mal Michael and Rodan? Didn't some or all of these guys grow up in other countries? Yet they proved you could succeed from such a background. The there's guys like Stynes, Keneally and that collingwood guy.
So Sparkster, does this post meet your standards? Or do I need to try harder
