I still feel MM should see out until the end of his contract because:
a) I don't want to see another $1M pissed away from sacking a coach
b) I want the club to put talented people around Mick instead of the ship of fools there now. Mick's a damn good coach, but it was typical CFC short-sightedness to think that just adding him to that crew would change anything.
c) MM's clearly been a good mentor over the years, and a smart club would've set up a natural successor the instant they signed him. But not us. And shame on us for throwing shitloads of money at one person rather than shoring up our entire coaching dept.
Too much of the previous regime still exists to blame MM alone. He was hamstrung from the start and never had what he had at Collingwood. Give him some decent tools to work with and see what happens. If he still fails, I'll be the first to wave him on his way.
Definitely agree he should see out his contract.
The problem I see DS is that we won't attract the quality around him we need.
I don't think the new young champs want to work with him.
If we attract Lingy, (for ex:) rather than Melbourne, as a successor coach in training,
then I'll be delighted.
Even though you'd think Carlton might be a better team to take over, it seems Ling at least would prefer to be mentored by Paul Roos.
That's if MM is even open to this concept after Collingwood.
That's one issue, but as many have said, how the f@#* do we change the polluted environment, and become a great club once again.
Use this last MM year to get the place together and offer hope for us beleaguered fans.
We've endured years of this crap and it's reaching high tide.
I feel for Kezza and others who once again hiked up to Sydney to watch CFC.
I don't think CFC handle years of loss like Tiges supporters.
I reckon we find other things to do.
