The first player I think will go is Joseph, Mick has always hated tagging and that's all pretty much Joseph can do. He is a very limited player. Mick will go after deffenders as he prides himself on coaching a great deffensive side. I would not be suprised if Thornton got a chance under Mick and he comes back.

He will love players who play with alot of heart and passion and Armfield is one of them. I can also see him replacing Garlett with Ellard. Garlett will be in and out of the side.

Certainly right about his last incarnation as coach but I don't know if he's always hated tagging. Drew Banfield and Dwayne Lamb built a career out of it and I'm pretty sure he had some accountable players at the Pies before 2007, before he had the team of Swan, Pendlebury, Thomas etc. Wasn't Brodie Holland a tagger sometimes.?

Joseph may get the lemonade though, but he may end up being replaced by someone who's better at it.

Brodie Holland did actually spend a fair bit as a tagger but he could also go up forward and kick goals. I don't think Joseph is capable of kicking goals and he let's face it he really isnt a good tagger.

I think he will back Simpson, Judd, Carazzo and Murph to not worry about tagging, similar to what he did at the Pies. I am really looking forward to watching us trade and draft along with the new gameplan round 1 when we smash the Tigers again.

Joseph is actually quite a good tagger. He just never gets to play in that position. He usually gets played as a small defender, a role he often struggles in.

Rather than turning the squad into Collingwood-lite MM might just use the list he has inherited - maybe he'll use a tagger if he thinks he's got a player for that role, maybe he won't trade out every player that has ever played in the ruck

Watching the Dockers game, and Chris Mayne's record is something like 25 goals 4 behinds this year.

If Mick can get our forwards kicking like that - look out!

Not sure Barker has improved our goal kicking ?
Maybe we need a specialist coach ...

It just shows what a change in coach with new structures and philosophy can do. I hope MM has a similar influence on our team. I am a firm believer that we have at least as much talent as Freo & Crows.

How does a change in coach make the players kick straighter?

No chance. Garlett has more talent in his little finger than Ellard.

How about if every time MM goes on field, we play the Pink Panther theme music.
Also, we change our mascot to the Pink Panther, but with a blue beret and CFC scarf.
Mick will need to always wear his Pierre the Beatnik outfit though.
He should also have a little twinkle toes routine, Ala Josh Kennedy for major crowd impact.
We could hire Toni Basil for the choreography.

Ask Freo and Crows players. 90% is above the shoulders.

..Hampson kicked 15.4 this year..

..as for taggers, yeah the myth that MM doesn't like/use taggers is bogus.. ..Licuria was another he used as a defensive mid.. ..the thing is, these days you need to do more than tag.. ..lookit Carrots this year, that's how you curtail/clamp an opposition mid and still contribute to directly as well as indirectly.. ..MM used to use Wellingham in this manner, and has used others.. ..but rather than have a designated 'tagger' he'd used a few to rotate thru a team's more damaging player, but they'd use their freshness to watch him and also try to burn him as well with attack.. ..it's Buckley that has lost that defensive edge..

Hearing Ross Lyon last night after the game was good.
"A no excuse football team"

That's what I want to see for a change.

Both Pagan and Ratten made excuses.
I reckon that seeps onto the players.

Enough is enough.

MM on channel 7 just now. Choice excerpts.

All team accountable, not just Juddy.

Captaincy Juddy's unless he relinquishes it.

Entire list from no. 42 down will be looked at. Don't always look at the same players.

New young players, more emphasis on development.

Took on job as he still has fire in the belly. Million per year help?

He doesn't need any mentoring.

MM has been in the place 5mins and already he has noticed the lack of development of our young players.

A poor reflection on Robert Hyde and Darren Harris.

Did he mention which areas of development there would be more emphasis on though Roy?

Sometimes the easiest scapegoat is not the one at fault.

MM also specifically mentioned that 'if we bring in 8 to 10 new players we will need more emphasis on development'.

8 to 10 new players! Sounds like we may be a little more active during the trade/FA period.
