Statistically I see where you're coming from Bondi but watching at least 6 other teams this past few weeks tells me we are miles off.
I want it to be as simple as hitting a target here and there but missing targets and making poor decisions seems ingrained and incredibly hard to change. That's the easy stuff.
The mental composure and pressure execution is miles off when you compare us to Brisbane, Hawthorn, Adelaide etc
Every game is different.
A different set of challenge for both teams going head to head.
Hawks and Footscary are both Finals contenders, one Flaf fave, and if you think about the number of 12 point goals we have given away, we are right in it, and we will improve our decision making. Even Walshy was holding onto the ball a little longer last game. It is as simple as hitting targets, if your just talking about the 4 points and not what others are doing.
That kick from walsh to Curnow (free at the back) landed 10m short. We missed a opportunity for Curnow to run into an open goal, instead they took it to their forwadline and bang a goal. 12 point turnaround. Happened 5 times vs Hawks and 4 times vs Doggies. WE are not that far off.
Question is, will better users of the ball help us? Players like Elijah, Fantasia, Cincotta, Newman, Cincotta....or kids like Wilson, Carroll and White? The first 2 are imminent, Cincotta in 4-5 weeks, and Newman maybe round 17-18. As for the kids, maybe one will break into the team.
Point is, they replace bottom 6.(I'm not naming them)
Furthermore, if you look at the 12 point goals last week it was experienced players who can steady up and concentrate more on their disposal like Walsh, Acres (maybe), Cottrell, Doc (vs Tigers).
