When Port got Laidley I asked why didn't we make a play for him. Now it seems we did and he was keen to come but Ratts vetoed it. If that is true, biggest mistake in Ratts gameplan ever.
Brett Ratten doesn't have the power to veto appointments within the football department. He can have an input - but that's about as far as it goes. I'm not aware of the Laidley situation, but am aware of the other potential candidate that we possibly shouldn't have let slip through our fingers. That said - not one of us is privy to the inner sanctum and workings of the football department. And in reading all these posts I'm really seeing a host of questions that no one really knows the answer to.
Are our 1-3 year players getting fast-tracked in an appropriate development program?
Does our leadership group understand the role 'Leading Teams' has placed upon them, or with Ray McLean still on hand - are they expecting others to lead and they will follow?
Is it appropriate that David Teague coach the Northern Bullants, yet still provide senior Carlton players with instruction when video analysis is done during the week?
Is the relationship between Football Department and Board a healthy one?
Can someone explain to me what Robert Harvey does?
Are the staff that satisfied with the new facilities that the perception is that things will now take care of themselves?
Does Wes Lofts need to walk past a few offices at the club just to frighten the shit out of a few people there?
Is it wrong of me to invoke the spirit of Laurie Kerr with a Ouija board at a séance this Friday night?
Who wants to come to the séance?
