Yes I was there LL. Did you not notice the 18 Crow jumpers inside our F50 on many occasions during the game from 1/4 time on. The problem was the lack of free space during the flood and shite disposal into the forward line more so that the players inside F50.
Time and again the kicks flew well over the head of the intended target and the turnover was on. You can blame plenty of things but the forward structure was not the issue, it was the way it went in after 1/4 time.

Apparently, when 18 players are inside our F50, they call it.....now let me think.....it's a new fad that's come in....a yes, they call it a 'flood'. That's a funny name. Must be a new strategy in vogue this year. Gee I hope our brains trust can thwart this. Neil Craig must be at the forefront of tactical response.
Maybe we can use it when the opposition are getting on top of us. Just a thought?
Let me put it this way.
They flooded clogging the F50. Even when a CFC player found the smallest amount of space to slot into inside 50 the Carlton player kicking it inside couldn't hit the side of the barn. Those were 2 simple facts. We could beat the flood if the execution was better but it wasn't.
It doesn't matter what sort of game plan you have if the disposal falls away across the board like it did at times tonight. All you can do is hope to tough it out like they did and hope for some inspiration. He pushed Jordy forward and he got some magic from Simmo and Ellard and there you have a tough win.
Posters keep talking about having a forward structure but at the moment we are still pinch hitting to some degree because of the following.....
Injury - Kreuz, Houls
Form - Hendo, Eddie, McLean, Setanta, Lucas, Armfield
Inconsistancy of Effort - Gibbs, Hammer
Walker was the hero yesterday but he has been his own worst enemy in other games.
Sure we could bring in T-Bird but I think that just makes us tread water more. Some want to bring in Watson but he still has plenty of aspects in his game to work on in the VFL. That was clear in yesterdays VFL game. If you want to make him another Livo then all we need to do is kill him in the 1st year of his career.
The defense isn't the real problem because even with the 3 big forwards the Crows had we still kept them to a losing score. And that was done with some inexperienced but seasoned defenders.
The main offenders for the poor disposal yesterday were the majority of senior players. When that is a case all the Coach can do is hope they get their act together sooner rather than later.
We are winning ugly with a team that really needs all it's players firing to get us over the line in big games.
