Because it's early in the game it won't be discussed. But @#$%&! you umpires.

If you have taken a mark you can play on ? Happens all game every week.

...but was it a mark? No replay on that one. Looked like Curnow had a chunk of it.

Can you see the correlation?"

Wrote this in the pre-match discussion. If we kicked 75 points we would of won....by a point!

Doesn't make me feel any better

Being a Sydney resident, I'd say they are genuine in their support but don't really "get" the game. The prime example was the Sydney vs. GWS game at the SCG this season. The first 15 minutes of the game was some of the most intense footy you'll ever see: big hits, ferocious tackles, smothers, etc. Real high quality stuff that would have the MCG roaring. But after those 15 minutes the score was 0.1 to 0.0, and you could hear a pin drop. Then finally Sydney breaks through for a goal, and the crowd wakes up from its slumber with a heartfelt cheer. Man, for me the goal was the anti-climax to some seriously amazing football, but I guess Sydneysiders are all about the razzamatazz.

Felt so weird sitting in a crowd where they make no comment during general play - no commenting on umpiring, players decisions etc. just waiting for Buddy to score.

Except those clappers they all have they use at the most random of times

Umpire... you pay a free kick if a ruckman takes possession in a ruck contest and gets tackled. you do not pay a free kick if an opposition player makes slight contact by just touching the back of the ruckmans jumper whilst he is kicking the ball. That is not a tackle. We are not playing the primary school tiggy tiggy touch. One of the worst 3 decisions of the day.

I was also perplexed by this, and the "commentators" didn't even pick up on it. Sometimes wonder if they're actually watching the game.

I saw that on the replay today. Terrible decision . I rewound it back 3 times to make sure I wasn't seeing things .

True, it's not a real footy crowd if you don't hear BALL! and MAN! every 2 seconds. :)

The clappers are indeed a disgrace. Last Sydney game I went to they were handing those out along with little placards advertising the new season of My Master Kitchen or Australia's Got Top Models or some other Channel 7 abomination, and the guy handing them out tried to force them into my hands so I had to pin my arms to my side and say sternly "I don't want that crap". All my Sydney mates took them. It was the worst moment of my life. Well, maybe not worst... top 100 perhaps.

Lay week they pay the man in front even though the Carlton player had most of the mark from behind, this week they play the man behind because he had most of the mark even though the Carlton player was in front.

Because Carlton.

I thought the umpires helped us in the first half....then they didn't in the second half.

I've come to expect that our game is unique in the fact that the umpires form matters just as much as the players form....it's crap but if I'm to keep enjoying the game I just have to accept it.

Umpires should be held accountable ...there should be video reviews after the games and if you get more than 3 decisions wrong in a game you're demoted.

I know an AFL umpire socially, and this does actually happen.

Then we'd have 27 different umpires every week.

One of our best performances of the season

disappointing about Charlie but got glimpses of immense talent - good to get more senior game time into Weiters and SOJ

Thought we also saw good things /developments from Graham Buckley and Bokehurst

Cripps Gibbs simpson Docherty excellent

Kreuzer much better around the ground this week - Phillips continues to improve - would like him to get a few more possies around the ground - seems to be a good mark though

Backline working very well

Midfield did very well

Sumner and Plowman did enough to hold their spots and hopefully have still a lot of upside in the next few years

Kerridge and wright both good warriors

That's the only way it works Gro, no maybe.

Love to know who gave Buddy 4 votes. I felt he was back to 2012 Buddy where he wants to kick every goal the Swans produce. Thats the year the Hawks lost the GF.
If Tippet doesn't get back, they are in trouble.

No problem with JPK, ridiculous amount of contested ball and was just too strong in a few significant moments.

4 goals out 10 could be seen as the difference, but I didn't notice Franklin after half time. Got on the end of a couple, and was always going to cash in being their only target.

Yep, Buddy was definitely doing his best Andy Cole impression, just hanging around waiting to score cheap goals. There was one (2nd or 4th quarter) where his team-mate was running into an open goal but Buddy started screaming for it and almost caused enough confusion in the team-mate's mind to cost them the goal. In all, he got 3 goals on the goal line and one excellent shot from 50m. His kicking around the ground was atrocious - numerous turnovers and one incredibly lucky "assist" where he tried to roost it 60m for a goal but instead scrubbed in 20m to where Kennedy happened to be lurking and then overpowered Buckley for a goal. No way did Buddy deserve votes, he was shit.

Well I thought it was a line ball call on the mark but that's interpretation so I can't really sook about that. But the over the mark thing was because the play had stopped. He came to ground well over the mark, got up off his ass and ran on. Once the play is stopped you have to go back behind your mark.
