Leave JUDD alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though hes half fit and clearly struggling to stretch out, he still makes every disposal count.!!!!!

Aker was on the new channel 7 footy show this morning, he said he had the same op as Juddy had and it took him 9 months to kick the ball over 50 meters.

I haven't even read the discussion or pros and cons, but geez, if only everyone's disposals counted like Judds we wouldn't be discussing the pros of yet another insipid performance. I'd take 5 possesions of Judd then 35 of Thornton.

You have to ask the question whether the injury is chronic? I don't know but looks awkward.

Logically I would bite the bullet and play Judd as a permanent forward for this year. Brad Jonson Role, perhaps? We are a forward short anyway and he will take the pressure off Fev.

Still looks like his movement is restricted. I'm amazed he's actually out there to be honest. Doing an excellent job given he's still recovering.

What choice do we have?

Play him out of the goal square to break the tag and move Fev up the ground. Fev's delivery is as good as anyone's (probably why he chucks a tanty so often) and it must be hard for Juddy to reign himself in when he needs to be managing his workrate.

He can't kick too far, but he might just introduce a bit of structure... might even help the guys up front with some blocking, crumbing, etc.

Try a box four with Fev and Fish across half forward and play Judd alongside Jake closer to home. Use Eddie as a bit of a workhorse between the two contests.

Need quick ball movement with this one though, so it will create a bit of congestion across the middle... When the flood is on (the classic defence to the box) there needs to be hard running to get deep, then lead up and create a bit of space out the back for the mid-sized players to contest the ball.

Just a thought...

Judd not at his best until August: Akermanis

Quote:
CARLTON superstar Chris Judd will not be in "full stride, full kicking" until August, according to Bulldog Jason Akermanis.

Speaking on Channel Seven's AFL Game Day yesterday, Akermanis said he had had the same surgery in 2002 that Judd underwent in the pre-season and that the recovery had been long and difficult.

"Full stride, full kicking takes nine months. So the Judd fans … you're not going to see him kick 60-metre goals until at least August," Akermanis said.

"It's disappointing I know, but that's just unfortunately what you have to do and what you have to get over, with an injury like this."

Judd struggled last season because of a chronic groin injury. It restricted his running and kicking and forced the midfielder to spend time in the forward line.

He signalled at the start of this season that Carlton fans would not see the best of him for several weeks as his body improved after surgery.

Considering we will win a handful of games this year, we should rest Juddy till round 10 so that he can get himself right.

As a pro tanker, wouldn't you prefer that we play one man injured?

Yeah but with him playing in the centre, he takes the pressure away from our younger guns in Murphy, Gibbs & Co...........
