Not taking that the wrong way at all. This is one of my biggest gripes too!
It's just not good enough, I agree.
I read an article in The Age today and Riley admits we had difficulty adapting to the plan opposition used on us to crowd our forwardline whilst keeping there's open...and he stated that we have learned how to play against that tactic, so maybe its a case of improvement in understanding the game by the kids rather than getting up for just this game. I have no doubt that our players are developing, and maybe the coaches are too. Experience is the motherof all learning...and our kids are getting better.
I don't think we're in excepttional form, but our attitude for the physical contest has improved outa sight...something we didn't do in Rnd 4.
To those who don't understand the importance of this game, I'll explain that whilst many of us want to make the finals which makes this and the next 2 must win games (depending on Freo to drop one against NM or Tigers), its bigger than that....its called rivalry.
Traditional rivals for Carlton are Collingwood and Essendon* ( these are the 4 most important games of the year) followed by the Tigers who haven't really troubled us since 1980 (other than the final in 2000 when Knights fell across Koutas knee and we lost to them when we were red hot in the finals race....to end an amazingly successful era for the Blues starting back in the 60's).
COME ON....I'm pumped, and these rivalry games are the most exciting of all...I wouldn't miss a rivalry game for anything....bring it on!!!!!!!!
