Rocco don’t give us problems, give us solutions.

Sounds like the 15 guys who sat in the outer at Princess Park acting as the Unoffical Selection Committee. I loved their spirit and they certainly helped oust Elliot, but each one had a different opinion. I know because I had to listen to everyone one of them over and over.

It was like herding cats. But passionate they were I will give them that

Not offering problems or solutions, just commenting on what is going to happen.

I suspect the outcome of all this will be a board made up of something old, something new, something borrowed and all blue.

Is the guy who sold peanuts at Princes Park still around?
Could be a neutral unity candidate.

Thats right Mick - after years of being a bottom club members have become acutely more political. Many if not majority would be astound new board members got a seat on our board without an election. It doesn't take a genius to figure out they are yes men/yes women. In an instant the board has become the emperor and his minions.

Mate, the more the corporates run the game the more this will happen.

When was the last open election at a club?

Sorry Rocco I wasn't actually referring to you. It was the Royal 'We'. I meant 'Vince don't give us problems, give us solutions'.

Lets hope Vince is prepared to offer an actual Fix to his perceived problems. Lets hope those he wants on the board value add to the Skill Sets required etc, etc.

If supporters such as Vince ever want to be taken seriously, they need to have a well defined Road Map of that comprehensively details the Why, When, How and Who that is going to improve things on the Board.

Keogh says it best occasionally (And I paraphrase Keogh).............Talk is Cheap! :smoking:

Haha, the USC. I used to go to training a bit in the early 90s & just enjoy eavesdropping on the chitchat.

I think there was an article on them in the footy record in about 93

   damn they use to smash me about recruiting. Rightly or Wrongly :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

I always use to get stories from them, where they claimed to have been privy to a conversation. What they didn't know was that many times I was actually involved in that conversation and they certainly weren't there.

They use to try and one up each other with 'Inside Info'. I remember a previous CEO use to slip them some useless tidbits that weren't true, just to see how far the story would go. Like Chinese whispers, by the time it got back to him a week later it was bigger than Ben Hur.

They always wanted to sack the Board and put their own mates on. Mind you, Collo and his Ticket who caused the overthrow of Elliot, certainly did put them to good use in the propaganda wars of 2002.

Regards Cazzesman

I remember the peanut man too.
He used to throw the bags of peanuts up into the crowd.
He would yell out peanuts, peanuts 20c a bag.
I am pretty sure he passed away about 30 years ago.

Shit there must have been 200 of them . Wes , flanked by Armour and Kev Hall fielded all comers . The boys are still around in fewer numbers but ALL are more than happy to give there start on all things Carlton . Good on " em .Loyalty is something you can't buy . Fantastic group of blokes for mine coz they are there hail rain or shine .

I prefer more football people that know football and football clubs.. these blokes are clueless without excel spreadsheets. They have zero intuition. It is no surprise we won finals games with a mediocre list under Sticks. See where I am coming from

So let me get this right.
We have an auctioneer/estate agent/master of ceremonies (Vince), the least most trusted person in a dishonest industry that is only surpassed by used car sales, looking to spill the new look board.
What skills could a snake like this have that meet a modern board composition to effectively manage a highly scrutinised organisation in the most scrutinised industry in Australia?
And what are their objectives.....to bring Teague back, a bloke who has proven not only he can't coach, can't adapt, but can't handle what comes with failure in the hottest seat in Australia?
How the hell do they think this will play out with all the media scum ready to pounce on this? Talk about a marketing and branding fiasco, if I was a major sponsor, I'd be looking to pull out.
IMO This will be the lowest our once great club has ever sunk to, especially on the verge of us finally getting some positive changes, with a list that is not far from delivering us the move up the ladder we have all been craving and a professional process driven president that takes no $h!t from the media.

Plus if the rumours are true that Clarkson didn't want to be a part of this, it just shows how messed up this EGM is.

And if this doesn't eventuate or if it fails, I hope the board changes the 100 vote threshold.
We have 81k members and there is bound to be at least 1% that are straight up lunatics (some are in here flying their colours).

Personally, all the votes I have with my family and friends, we will be voting against this circus of a coup and Trump like instigator.

When I say corporates I’m referring to the game as a whole. There’ll be no more democratic elections, I don’t know any corporate board where the next member isn’t invited.

It’s not the same game, not just on field but off it too. If we can get the football appointments right we’ll be a chance but there’s very little difference between the groups that’ll ‘run’ the club.

It’s going to be hard to entice quality coaches and players from other clubs with this rubbish going on.

The agitators would be well served to keep their powder dry for 12 months. If Sayers botches the next 12 months, then the opposition ticket is much more likely to generate support in 2022/23.

Now is not the time to challenge. It’s not going to get up, and all it’s going to do is scare off quality people and cause a distraction we can’t afford.

Ever thought that anyone who associates with us these days either leaves a hero or sticks around long enough to have their reputation tarnished?

These guys have initiated this too late if anything.

Michael voss has been quoted as being unhappy regarding the lack of process surrounding the Teague appointment and thought he was a pawn in that negotiation.

So he's out too.

We just continue to disappoint. Why would anyone want to be involved with us? This is worse that the 2000's. Back then at least we could blame Elliott for leaving us in a sticky situation and the afl for smashing us. This is just 20 years of inept leadership. We voluntarily left pp people can blame the EGM guys for why we aren't attracting quality candidates but our club isn't acting like a place to be.

You know I look at Brisbane and Greg Swann running the show and I wonder how these guys went from a similar situation as us to a top 4 finish with our old ceo whilst we were rehabilitating Stephen Triggs reputation.
