One thing on the coaching/game plan.

Just go and watch how they cleared from a point that we scored compared to the way we cleared it. Most times we kick to a contest or straight in the centre. They cleared the ball so easily.

Back home . You sensed in the 3rd quarter it was only a matter of time.

Just to much left to to few then they try to do to much and it costs us.

Cripps turned it over a lot in the first half but redeemed himself in the 2nd half to be our best.

Harry could have had 8 or 9 but he also could have given a couple off sense he is like Cripps and Walsh and try win off own boot and doesn't trust others around him.

To many bland Salad players who offer not much.
Fogarty Gibbons Setterfield Cotrell you hardly notice them.

I have said this after the last 150 games but what does Levi offer.

TDK will come good.
Martin was not ready.
Eddie should stop calling for the ball and players should stop thinking he can take a mark.

Swans time and time again took the ball out of the centre bounce by blocking Cripps and allowing Cripps man to link out the back

Newman gave his man to much room and was poor today.
Saad allows himself to be dragged deep where he ineffectual.

Doc is scared of contact and won't bend down to pick up ball.

I was buggered watching Ed warm up , sprints up and down ground must have done 30off them no idea how he ran out game

To many talls and got run over

At times it looked like we were going to flog them . In patches they looked sensational but them all of a sudden nothing and they look disinterested.
It's weird to watch.

In two minds if I will go next week

Exactly

Cottrell Gibbons or Fogarty Owies with Betts

Too many midgets who can't break a tackle.

Doc gave away 2 goals
Saad gave away 2 goals.

Newman did. Jones did. Weiteres did.

WE could've given ourselves a chance but nah

3rucks plus a bloke who hasn't played for two months. Then add jsos who was out of puff midway through the second and it is easy to see why we get ran over after 3/4.
Pick a balanced side of blokes who can run out games .

Fair call

There is ample talent. We need a better coach to get the most out of it

Martin, Saad, Williams, they're all underperforming.

The players need to be inspired

Those 3 would all be thinking ...what the @#$%&! i have walked in to here....

Meanwhile we are all thinking "why the F$#@ did we spend a squillion on these crocks?"

They went to Perth and lost to Freo in the wet, but finished all over us in the last. Paging Andrew Russell...

Really disappointing but the better side won. They just looked so much more dangerous than us when they had it forward. Just always knew they were a chance to score. Plowman would've been handy for Papley, FFS

Umpire shocker of the day was the too high on Martin in the 3rd. Ump was staring at it, play on.

2 terrible turnovers each to Newman and cripps, although I thought cripps was in good form overall. And the Fogarty shot at goal, seriously what the hell?

Hard to think of too many clear winners on the day, just another stock standard 20 something point Carlton loss really.

Everyone fails to get the most out of this list. Changing coaches will be like changing the deck chair on the Titanic. Time to start weeding those out who don't want it badly enough. Teague has by far the 2nd best record of any of our coaches this century, sad to say, including 2 high profile premiership coaches, both who created the rot.

Players have to inspire themselves, like in any sport. I can tell you that as a coach from a shit lot of experience, not to mention my qualifications in Psychology and Physiology. As Parko said not long ago, a coach can encourage but motivation has to come from within and if it is not there you it isn't happening. If players have to be inspired then we have no hope. This is a player and sports psychologist issue. Just change the coach and nothing will change on that count. Bad cultures kill coaches. Can only get the most out of talent if the players want to badly enough and that is up to them.

Agree about the intrinsic motivation Jim...but...what has Teague done to drive standards and build culture for those players who don't appear to be intrinsically motivated week after week???

Time to play Kennedy and Dow for the rest of the season got nothing to lose by playing them

Pretty sure he said in the interview after the game those two played today. That doesn't make a lot of sense.

These guys have talent, it's just that Teague cannot extract that talent.

..players aren't invested.. ....coaching team not good enough.. ....ultimately, longtime problem has been lack of accountability.. ....just own it, all of it,, and then use it to push forward.. ....the pain will heal and spur you onto better things.. ....fully accept the shit, and then you won't want to feel that again..

When I heard that Swans had lost a hard game in the West, in the wet to Freo I thought. "Beauty, if we are with them at 3/4 time we should run over them".

it hurts to watch that sort of shit unfold - moreso because you sense/know it is going to happen.
it hurts more to watch Teague and the 'coaching' staff sitting mute in the box as it unfolds - like they're the only ones on the planet who would expect it to happen.

there's a lack of accountability - players just don't work hard enough without the ball - Setterfield and Gibbons are a fine example but there's plenty more and they get picked each week. So lack of work ethic has no consequences.

I'd be looking to get some hard arse old coach into the box to wake the catatonic bastards up - what's mark williams doing?

Season is shot so I'd throw Stocker and Dow into the centre and have Curnow as a run with/ shut down only. Get rid of Pittonet, Casboult, Cottrell and GIbbons etc and kick Setterfield's arse and get some opportunity into SPS (in the guts) Honey and Parks and @#$%&! it even O' Brien and @#$%&! it squared, even Durdin and McDonald. I'm past caring if they are "ready". Play TDK as a single ruck and wing it roving to their taps - which we should be doing at any rate.

Teague demoralises you on selection and then rubs your nose in it on game day.

4.8 mill over 6 years for a HBF
Joke period
Williams is a good footballer who seems to give a shit unlike Jack Martin but the club once again goes the big banana
Williams looks a bit footy fat to me
He needs to play mid on the coin he is on so get fitter
He clearly hasn’t got the tank

Start the Last Qtr with: kick into our 50 nicely for Pitto to pack mark - dropped it - Swans go and goal.
Next: Swans in attack, Pitto gets in front for uncontested mark - double fist to Swans player and they goal.
Now 3 goals down and it’s throw caution to the headless chook time....
We can match many teams...until it’s tight at the end when any pressure and composure disappears.

This. We played 4 midfielders. Swans played 7. No wonder we can’t run out 4 qtrs.

Have to play Dow and Sps next week
