Nic Newman out for season with patella injury

Is that the injury that Charlie had?

From memory, Charlie damaged his medial against Freo and then damaged/dislocated his actual patella (kneecap)
Newman has damaged the patella tendon.

So 2 games in and we have lost players during both games and both out for the year.

No doubt we are miles of the pace but FFS it seems we are cursed.

Who will it be this week?

Nope...

Then Charlie fractured his patella (knee cap) because of the ' medial ligament ' (lookup patella subluxation)

Both are 'troublesome'... Lot of work and finger crossing required.....depending of course how bad the original injury... (but I cannot imagine they are good... Rarely are with footballers at this level - and size)

In better news, ruckman Matthew Kreuzer is “a realistic option for this year down the track” and could be available in the next two months.

Young ruckman/key forward Tom De Koning is also available for selection after overcoming an ankle injury.

Cheers. I thought Charlie has some sort of injury to his patella.
Not a good injury to get by the sound of it.

This Russell bloke gives me confidence they've finally got this physical training and skills stuff right at last.

"explosive, dynamic skills training" ...how good does that sound !

Agree isn’t it good touch wood that Willo and Cunners are now stringing games together -just need to have Marchbank do the same and co-incidentally when they do string games together their performances improve

Jack Silvagni spent overnight in hospital under observation, cracked ribs and a bruised lung. Very painful

I doubt Kreuz and Newman would be in our best 22.

Yeah Newman > Newnes any day, but more pertinent is the fact that Fisher, O’Brien, Stocker, Dow, Kennedy, Kemp will all be pushing for selection over the next year or two to add to Harry, Charlie, and Marchbank. Going to be some very good players in the reserves for Carlton.

Maybe not Humpers but seasoned AFL players and side immeasurably better if H and Charlie play also forgot Fisher and Dow who would be close to best 22
Point is building depth and less susceptible to injury than in the past
Pittonet is giving us what Kreuz can’t atm but Kreuz does bring other attributes but is close to finishing because of injury

I cracked two ribs three years ago and another one 7 weeks ago.

I have no idea how these guys get back out there after a week off.
