From memory Petracca started on Walsh, not Murphy.
Walsh was better value when he was moved to the wing. Petracca torched him in the first 10 minutes.
And yes, Ed did reduce Petraccas influence significantly.
Nah
Murphy v Petracca for first 8 minutes, then Petracca went forward. He had 7 possessions at that stage.
Petracca was still on ball when he took that mark over Ed which resulted in a goal, and Murph was following him.
I think you remember when the loose ball was in the air wing when Walshy looked like he was going to get it then Petracca snatched it and ran off towards goal leaving Walsh in his wake. That was just bad luck for Walsh. He was under the ball and Petracca came in from nowhere. I never saw Walsh directly on Petracca other than that time.
When Petracca went forward, Murphy took Brayshaw, Ed took Viney and Oliver held Cripps.
Setters went in the middle when Murph was on a wing, as did Cuningham and Martin when Cripps went forward.
There was times when Petracca came back into the midfield to match up with Ed and Murphy one more time by accident I guess.
Petracca was spent and had none of that burst energy he showed in the first.
Commentators said Ed had closed down Viney snce quarter time, but that's not the case because Ed took other opponents Dees were rotating through the mid: Hunt, and small stints from Brown, Langdon and Melksham. Ed played mid all game. Cripps went forward in the last. Murphy mainly wing after quarter time.
